I hope the Senate has more sense, and some staff who do research.
Congress tried this in 1974. People hated it. Kids were killed in the morning dark. It was such an utter failure, it had to be repealed about 10 months later.

Permanent Daylight Saving Time for Denver/Colorado would mean no clock ‘fall back’ in November.
We’d have late winter sunrises (8-8:20a), but our earliest sunset would be around 5:30p.

I miss the days of police scanners. It was free entertainment and always helpful to know when things like accidents had streets blocked. Its a real shame they encrypted the signals years ago.
