@Sonayesul I had chemical burns on my chest after a week of wearing a holter monitor with my adhesive/latex allergies. This pic is after the first day when I changed the sticky pad out for a new one. They knew about my allergies and said I'd be fine bc it was "medically safe adhesive" 🙄

@Sonayesul Yeah, I pray that I never need cardiac monitoring because I can’t wear bandaids longer than 12 hours or else it’s rash city.

@idun_care And now I know why my healthcare professionals aren’t really worried about my one or two cans of coke a week. Like even at my worst, it was like three in a week, definitely not in a day.

Saw this video about a week ago and was like “that’s crazy” the comments also agreed. The fact she thought her doctor was being judgy vs concerned was also crazy. Anyways, hope she lays off the drinks but I know she won’t

@pctg16 Not at all. For the brief period of time I was on Novolog, my entire body was covered in hives and every time I had to inject it, it burned like you would not believe, leading to welts at the injection site. It also did not lower my blood sugar at all.

@DrMTd8e @CVSHealth Humalog (or Lispro I don’t care). I’ve been on Humalog for 30 years. I am deathly allergic to all insulins made by Novo Nordisk, and such allergy is well-documented in my medical file. They require the PA because they want me on Novolog.

@FwipsArt Yeah, I’m pretty sure you aren’t supposed to have a license if one has uncontrolled epilepsy.

And idk anything much about the condition but I do know they gotta limit SOME things due to risk posed to others that are fully NOT your fault but are your responsibility to reduce harm, and like it just sounds so shitty, but that had rlly stuck with me even 10 years later

When I was a dog groomer I had a client bring their dog in hella late and when I asked her if she was okay due to the massive black eye and facial bruising, she laughed and said that yes, she was fine, she 'just has epilepsy and will sometimes have seizures while driving'

@FeralHeather Wait, is it a scimitar as "sword" or scimitar (also spelled cimeter) as large knife used by butchers?

laughed out loud at this item on the list of things you cannot bring into the courthouse. You just know this rule exists because of a very specific incident. I want to hear that story.

I am begging people to stop repeating this garbage. Sperm lasts 5 days MAX before it dies and the DNA it’s carrying dies with it. There is no evidence DNA stays long term Foreign DNA FROM A MALE FOETUS A WOMAN IS CARRYING is what can remain in her body for years

@froglet80 I had a horrible reaction to dental epinephrine without being on any stimulants at all. that probably needs to be extended to prescribed stimulants as well. I was in full-body convulsions and my pulse and blood pressure were super high. no warning or explanation until afterwards

it's a crass taboo question to be sure, and probably not related to the stated scenario, but what age do modern parents think puberty starts at? I'm serious. do they think it starts at 16-17? because they know it's actually 10-11 right

@HighHeelEsquire She is THIRTEEN. If she was 16 or 17, yes this would be crazy overbearing. What are they doing at just 13 they don’t want the mom to see? She’s too young to be totally unsupervised. I don’t think this is too much at all. They’re babies.

@0nthewr0ngway A lot of American English is brand oriented too. Tylenol vs paracetamol, Advil vs ibuprofen, for examples.

american english compared to british english is just less specific to me. like a certain type of jumper is a sweater, but not all of them. a certain type of biscuit is a cookie, but not all of them. a certain type of chips are fries, but not all of them, do you get what I mean?

Bc I started doing cute nails at home & accidentally didn’t fully cure my gel polish ONE TIME & now I have an allergy so severe that I can’t touch super glue or gel polish without getting hives all over my body. My fingertips & knuckles swell, crack open, & bleed for 2 weeks!💃🏼😍

@lokysplace Do people not understand labor laws or employment contracts? Work schedules must be respected, no matter what. If someone needs documents scanned after your shift ends, it doesn’t matter whose responsibility it is once your work hours are over, you leave. Period.

“abbot was so strict w day shift” no he wasn’t he is literally doing his job as senior attending and it’s not night shift job to digitalise papers of patients from day shift when night shift has to take care of patients that have been waiting for hours
