@ThemeParkWW When we first rode it in 2018 it was absolutely amazing, nothing like it. But this year was very blurry and really don’t know why they don’t fix it. So sad.

@SCP_Hughes Now this thread initially made me angry. But then I got incredibly sad, as I think it’s a perfect example of how the UK has completely lost its way through over government and over regulation yet doesn’t seem to see that freedoms and entrepreneurship are where value is created

Over the last three years, housebuilding in London has collapsed. Molior recorded just 2,158 private starts in the first half of 2025, around 5% of London’s (low) targets, and still falling. What is going on? I have posed this question to numerous specialists, most of whom cannot comment publicly for professional reasons. This thread is a summary of what I have gleaned.

@CoasterJoey I used to go to Alton Towers many times a year. But due to abysmal ride availability, ridiculous food pricing, poor quality, and reducing offerings, I’ve given up. Not been to AT once this year and no plans to. If I’m anything like the average punter, that’s why.

Merlin have reported a Net Loss of £492 million for the 2024 accounting period, more than double the loss from the previous year. This explains the company downsizing by selling off assets and making various cuts across the business. Thoughts?
