Most of us who work on heavily used systems at scale saw this one coming, and that they would propose a rewrite as they just have, and we also don’t think this is the answer. This is why hubris is a very counterproductive quality in engineering. Why do we all agree on this?

Educating a team slows you down for a week or two. Not educating the team slows you down forever. Time spent in learning is never wasted.

A periodic reminder. TDD is a development, not a testing, strategy. I augment TDD tests with micro/unit tests as I work, though. You need both.

A "walking skeleton" is the best way I found to kickstart a complex project. Get something up and running, quickly, that does _almost_ nothing. Then iterate. It works, but it's so hard to resist the temptation to polish before the end-to-end journey is up and running.

Lot of fires, it's super hot, water is scarce...time to act on climate change i guess...waiting is not anymore an option (it never was to be honest)

More that 59°C was measured on the soil surface in Spain 🇪🇸 and 48°C in the south on France 🇫🇷. This is not « just summer ». It is « just hell » and will pretty soon become « just the end of human life » if we continue with our climate inaction. #heatwave

At Prima we ❤️ #Rust and that's why two weeks ago we begun our internal Rust Reading Group where we talked about the 1st chapter of "Rust for Rusteceans" by Jon Gjengset. This Friday we'll continue our discussion by diving deep into "Type, Generics, Traits & Traits Objects" 🦀💪

I’ve delivered 100+ features over last 10+ yrs as an Engineer/Manager/Director. Here is a lesson I learned 3yrs ago that changed the game: A bad & unclear decision (yet intentional) is better than no decision in 99% of cases. This might seem extreme/unproductive, but isn’t 🧵
