Translation: Let’s tie our own hands, play nice, and hope the other side does too. Pathetic. The LEFT doesn’t think like that. They UNITE. They FIGHT DIRTY. They DON’T CARE ABOUT THE RULES. Gerrymander ruthlessly when it suits them? Done. Pack courts? On the table. Weaponize lawfare, censorship, and bureaucracy? Every single day. Gift themselves seats while screaming “democracy dies in darkness”? Without hesitation. Democrats play to WIN not to be the “reasonable” losers who get praised by the media. They don’t wring their hands worrying about what we’ll do in response. They strike first, hard, and never apologize. Meanwhile, too many Republicans clutch pearls about “norms” and “fairness” while handing Democrats free seats. This weak-kneed, defeatist garbage is why we lose power, lose ground, and lose America.

We can shape the future… I don’t anticipate this need to be the case, but there is a ‘break the glass scenario.’ There’s many people that have a deep understanding of what it would look like if Democrats were locked out, and we’re going to do everything to make sure that doesn’t happen. I’ll leave it there.” It would be nice if he gave a hint about what lengths he intends to go to in order to ensure a Democrat wins. 🤨

The core CPI excluding the rental components (for which the BLS acknowledged a measurement quirk) came in at the oh-so-scary reading of +0.2% in April, which it has matched or been lower than in each of the past three months. During that time, this underlying measure of inflation has registered a +2.2% annual rate. I mean, for all the angst and anxiety over energy pass-through and tariffs, that’s all we get? Meanwhile, the bond market is having a mild coronary.

In my opinion this is industrial bottleneck inflation. Flatbed rates are exploding because specialized capacity is tight and heavy industrial cargo is being pulled forward ahead of tariffs, energy disruption, infrastructure deadlines, data center buildouts, grid projects, and supply chain uncertainty. That is very different from a healthy economy. A true boom would show up across intermodal, consumer freight, warehousing, manufacturing employment, export orders, and full time labor strength. Instead, the clean consumer linked freight signals are weak, manufacturing is soft, and underemployment is rising. This is not the economy cranking. This is a stressed system paying record prices to move the inputs it cannot afford to miss.
