Paul and Timothy were very close friends. Paul loved Timothy like a son. Paul prayed for Timothy every day and longed to see him again. Timothy had learnt about faith in God from his mother and grandmother. He had received a gift of the Spirit when Paul placed hands on him. Paul wanted Timothy to use his gift faithfully to serve the church. He could do this by teaching the truth about Jesus. Paul had taught Timothy how to teach the truth. The Holy Spirit would give him the power and love he needed to do it. The truth of the good news is that Christ has broken the power of death. Upon Jesusʼ return to earth he will judge all things on judgement day. He gives eternal life to those who trust in him. Paul had been put in prison for spreading that message. Many people who had been Paulʼs friends were ashamed that he was in prison. They deserted him when he was treated badly. But Godʼs Spirit gave Paul strength to face these troubles. The faith and friendship of believers like Onesiphorus and Timothy encouraged Paul.

If you’re a Christian reading this, here’s my message for you: Our enemy is not the Muslims, “Islamic invasion” or Sharia law. Our enemy is not “far left liberals” or the Democratic Party. Our enemy is not the “Jews” or even modern day Israel. Our enemy is not human. Ephesians 6:12 says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” I’m not posting this to scare anyone. We have hope in JESUS. Jesus said that Satan is the “god of this world” (2 Corinthians 4:4), but ultimately God, is in control and he only allows Satan so much power and it’s meant to bring judgement on the world and point us to the Savior, Jesus Christ. I think we need to stop underestimating Satan. He is powerful, conniving, highly intelligent, manipulative and he is real. Satan knows scripture better than any of us, the reason for the Fall of mankind is because of Satan and he has been deceiving us from the very beginning. The biggest deception is us thinking that our enemies are these human beings. Our enemy is not human, please repent and accept the fact that JESUS is the only way. Stop thinking that politics can save us. No political party, president or anything of this world is our savior. Jesus said “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). This world is headed for the inevitable New World Order. What we should not be doing with our time is arguing with the “left”, thinking that Islam is the enemy, being lukewarm and being deceived and distracted by the media, and being fanatical about the president. We should be is rebuking and exposing the evil and the darkness (Ephesians 5:11), repenting of our sins (John 1:9), praying without ceasing (Matthew 5:44), loving our neighbor as ourself (Leviticus 19:18), feeding the hungry, helping others (Isaiah 58:10) and preaching the gospel to all people (Mark 16:15). 2 Timothy 2:24-26 says: “And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” Let’s stop being distracted by the enemy. Let’s focus on Jesus and the gospel and shining the light in this dark world.

Pray with me July 30, 2026 Heavenly Father, Quiet my heart and still the noise within me. Open my ears to hear Your voice above every distraction. As Your Word says, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). Give me a heart that is quick to obey and slow to wander. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and grant me wisdom, discernment, and a willing spirit. Let Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105). If You need to correct me, give me humility to receive it. If You want to encourage me, give me faith to believe it. If You call me to act, give me courage to obey without delay. May I not simply hear Your voice today, but faithfully follow wherever You lead. I ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

If history is any indication, the WNBA should already be preparing to suspend Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers immediately while it conducts a full investigation. We now have a video admission... and separate footage appearing to show cash changing hands over a wager involving their own game. Historically, conduct of this nature has resulted in an immediate suspension for the remainder of the season, followed by a one-year ban. Calvin Ridley suffered a similar fate when the NFL suspended him for an entire season, costing him his $11.1 million salary for that year. His conduct was arguably less severe because he was not active on his team’s roster when the gambling occurred and did not participate in the games involved. So the WNBA has a very simple choice: Enforce the integrity standards applied throughout professional sports... or explain why its preferred stars are somehow exempt. The league cannot protect its way out of this one.
