@DavaDave1884 I was blissfully unaware (forgot) about this game until I saw this.
Now my plans for a gentle relaxing evening are in tatters. 🥺😀

@Freelander27 @TheIcicleWorks @Oceanbreeze473 Chris always gets my vote in any "Best drummer" polls I take part in.
English

@Oceanbreeze473 Neil Peart reckoned that the best drummer in the 80's was Chris Sharrock of the Icicle Works.
Here is an old 80's clip of them>>

@Brighti @reisshaldane I've watched it over and over from a couple of angles. The more I watch, the more I feel it was unintentional.
English

@reisshaldane He didn’t mean it. Watch it in real time - it was a knee-jerk reaction to the push in his back, and he instantly apologised. He’s not that kind of player. Doesn’t need to be.

Zero surprise from Jack Baird, never had an ounce of footballing ability in his body.
Always been a bully bastard.

St Johnstone’s Jack Baird has got away with one massively there. That is 100% a red card.

Hibs had to do so away to Celtic in the 2010s, but aside from that, I can’t think of any other occasion in Scottish football a team of outfielders has had to wear their goalkeeper kit. Quite intrigued to see how this looks - I just can’t place St. Johnstone wearing all red.
English

Think today represented the fifth predominantly red change strip in the modern era worn by a @StJohnstone team. But I’ll let @StJohnstone_FS confirm the below:
1) The first was our second strip from Matchwinner back in our final two years at Muirton in the late 80s - the classic ‘white bib’ design. The red strip complemented the blue first strip well. It was hugely popular back then and again sold well when re-released as a classic replica a few years ago.
2) When we moved strip suppliers to Bukta the following season - our first at McDiarmid - an unusual red and white striped second strip was used and was again popular. I remember several Italians being amused by our rather rudely named sponsor when I wore it on the Ligurian coast during Italia 90. It was a Bonar after all…….
3) It was a good few years before red would return to our colours - 2013-14 to be precise - this time it was red and black vertical stripes. Not in tribute to AC Milan but to the friendship that developed between Saints and Eskisehirspor following our meeting in the Europa League in 2012. That friendship still exists and this shirt reflected it (they adopted a blue and white shirt as a second kit in reciprocation). This kit still makes me think of our wins at Forfar and Raith en route to winning the Scottish Cup that year 🏆
4) the last time we had a predominantly red second kit was in 2021-22 having just won the cup double 🏆🏆 (have I ever mentioned that?). It was designed as a tribute to the red and white stripes from the first year at McDiarmid - and I can still see Chris Kane scoring in this kit away to Austrian’s LASK in Europe that year.

English

@sjfcheritage @StJohnstoneFans To put a spanner in the works, I mind that strip as blue & white. It was compared to the Birmingham City strip at that time.
The strip in the pic MAY have been red (home teams changed in them days) but maybe there was enough white in our strip to allow us to wear traditional blue
English

@ped100x @StJohnstoneFans Spot on Peter, there was definitely an all red kit. Think the kit in this photo might also have been red (& white obviously). Interestingly, they wore this one for a HOME game v Dundee. Oh for a colour version of the photo….

A change of look at Cappielow 👀 We'll be in red this afternoon. The shirts will be auctioned, with a portion of the proceeds going to The British Heart Foundation ❤️️ COYS! #SJFC

@StJohnstoneFans This isn't the strip I was remembering but it's red.
Added bonus is I'm a ball boy behind the goals at the ice rink end

@ped100x If it’s the Matchwinner one (from the 80s), there’s too much white for it to be all red for me!
English

@StJohnstoneFans No. It was all red socks, all red shorts, no trim, all red shirts, including cuffs and neck.
Just the numbers on the back were white
English

@RossWayne Absolutely brilliant Ross. It was a great feeling for me when we won the 2 cups. But the run Falkirk has been on since you launched your podcast is phenomenon. I remember seeing how low you were the season you missed promotion from League 1.
Enjoy every second. Hope you win it.

Trashcan Sinatras still write pretty tunes

@EdSmith666 @BenjaminGrocott On the other hand, the striker we sold a couple of weeks ago, who managed 6 goals in 19 games in the "Conference North standard league" , easily managed 2 against you in one game (only on the pitch 62 minutes) the other night 😉
English

@BenjaminGrocott Conference North standard league just look at the defending . Ruari isn't good enough for League One.
English

Thank god we shipped him out, woudlnt want a striker scoring goals now would we. Someone who runs 10k a game is what you need in a relegation scrap, not goals
