It is clear that RFK Jr.'s handpicked new appointees to #ACIP are a danger to families and children across America. In their first meeting today, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices decided to reconsider the entire childhood immunization schedule and recommendations and to install the former head of a well-known anti-vaccine group as a special employee to the vaccine safety office. I will be watching carefully and will continue to fight misinformation and poorly informed and reckless decisions that put kids and entire communities at risk.

This week's ACIP meeting was full of the same intentionally misleading fearmongering that causes vaccine hesitancy. Children and families deserve better — public health information grounded in science.

This is a travesty and a nightmare. The US was a founder of @Gavi. It lowers vaccine costs for the world, has vaccinated 1B children, and averted 19M deaths. This pull out will cost 100s of thousands of children's lives a year -- and RFK Jr will be personally responsible.

Hepatitis B can be passed from parent to baby at birth - and when that happens, the consequences can be deadly. It is unscientific & dangerous to ignore the success of U.S. vaccination programs or argue that the U.S. should not vaccinate babies for hepatitis B at birth.

I learned a new word- Prebunking: Combatting misinformation and disinformation by educating people before they encounter it. So before "ACIP" meets: Vaccines work. Thimerosol doesn't cause autism. Vaccines don't cause autism. HPV vaccine prevents cancer. Data and experts matter.

Secretary Kennedy replaced CDC’s vaccine advisors based on false claims of conflicts of interest, and yet one of his new ACIP appointees reported more conflicts than all the 17 fired members combined. Striking.

THE BOTTOM LINE: RFK Jr. went on national television and systematically misled millions of Americans with false claims about vaccines. But the real evidence is available. The studies exist. The safety data is public. Why this matters: I've seen many people die from vaccine-preventable diseases and it is truly the most awful thing I've witnessed. Don't be misled.
