@TheThirdPercent @froaklies Fully agree! We should do the same with people that have more than 1 car, 1 house, let more than 20% of their food expire/unconsumed, have more than 1 collector item per category, go to a specific concert more than once (or resell tickets).

Every civilization that ever mattered had an aesthetic it was willing to die for. The Greeks bled for it. Rome organized its entire existence around it. The Japanese turned refinement into a full theological pursuit. You already know what ours is. Always did. milady

The number one thing I’m asked at auditions is “what surprised you most when you moved to Japan” and tbh nothing much, I researched the hell out of everything before moving here but if I’m honest and say “hospitals closing at 5pm” it’s not interesting enough smh

Open Ended Mind
Open Ended Mind@shabmigozarad·
Many people believe the future of medical practice is simply AI replacing doctors, because AI has access to vastly more information. This profoundly misunderstands what medical practice actually is. Medicine is not merely data retrieval, protocol matching, or statistical prediction. Real medical practice , especially in complex cases, involves ambiguity, intuition, ethical nuance, cultural context, family dynamics, nonverbal communication, human suffering, and the kind of clinical judgment forged through years of lived experience. A patient is not a dataset. Two patients with identical scans, labs, and diagnoses can require COMPLETELY different decisions, because medicine unfolds within CONSCIOUS human reality, not inside isolated algorithms. AI will become an extraordinarily powerful TOOL. But tools are not physicians. A REAL DANGER is the rush to monetize medical practice - FURTHER to what it is now - by opportunistic, money-driven tech companies that have no deep understanding of its nuances, depths, or human realities. The deeper danger is that we humans may slowly forget the depth and richness of our own consciousness and the irreplaceable art of caring. I will write more on this soon.

change.org/Yo-kai_Watch

The WSJ wants to know "what happens when Europeans find out how poor they are." I'm a European running a family office / living in Monaco. Let me run the numbers for Joseph Sternberg. Spoiler: per-capita GDP is the most misleading stat in this entire debate.🧵

This isn't a copyright violation. No code is being copied. They are reverse engineering the server. They can legally run the code. It is legal to analyze code you can run. It is legal to write your own code to be compatible with any protocol. And it is legal to release your research and any code that replicates a protocol. All this is specifically legal under Japanese law. Which even says copyright doesn't apply when you're using the art for research and testing. As much as you may not like it, this is the legal and preferred method for doing this research. This is not theft, not even under Japanese law. ja.wikibooks.org/wiki/%E8%91%97
