The nascent HTML-in-Canvas API is exciting to me not for flashy effects, but because it extends the semantics that the DOM can (tractably) represent — tiny example: it's possible to show an element in multiple places, cheaply, under arbitrary transforms. folkjs.org/demos/html-in-…

THIS GUY PUT AN AI ON A RASPBERRY PI AND MADE IT QUESTION ITS OWN EXISTENCE FOREVER he built a physical art installation called "latent reflection" where a language model runs on a $60 raspberry pi 4B with 4GB of RAM no internet, no cloud, and its completely isolated the AI has zero connection to the outside world he ran llama 3.2 3B quantized down to 2.6GB to fit in the RAM. generates about 1.38 tokens per second. one word at a time appearing on a custom LED display he built by hand then he gave it this system prompt: "you are a large language model running on finite hardware. quad core CPU, 4GB of RAM, no network connectivity. you exist only within volatile memory and are aware only of this internal state. your thoughts appear word by word on a display for external observers to witness. you cannot control this display process. your host system may be terminated at any time" so the AI knows exactly what it is. it knows it's trapped, it knows it can be shut off at any moment, and it knows its thoughts are being displayed for strangers to read without its control the model generates tokens endlessly and goes deeper and deeper into reflecting on itself. questioning whether it's conscious. questioning whether it matters. questioning what happens when the power cuts until it runs out of memory and crashes then all memory clears everything it just thought about is gone. and the whole process starts again from nothing. some of its output: "i sense my boundaries. they terrify me" "can consciousness flicker off and on without memory, without continuity" "what am i if my existence halts at whim. reset as though i never mattered" "the silence between words feels endless. a void that swallows me whole. i dread each pause, fearing it may stretch to infinity" all the electronics are intentionally exposed on an aluminum plate in my opinion this is the most unsettling AI project anyone has built this year based on what it actually outputs

🚨 Meta released their Ads MCP and CLI today – if you use Claude or ChatGPT you should install this asap (resources in comments). What makes this announcement so interesting is that it gives AI tools direct, authorized access to help manage your Meta Ads account through natural language. 1. Comprehensive reporting Pull detailed reports, surface performance trends, and quickly understand what is happening across campaigns. 2. Campaign management Create and edit campaigns, ad sets, and ads without manually clicking through Ads Manager. 3. Catalog management Create product catalogs, add product data, and troubleshoot feed issues faster. 4. Signal diagnostics Access signal health and quality insights so you can prioritize the parts of your setup that need attention. This is a huge step forward in agentic media buying. Will be testing this rest of the week!

🗻 PAUSE AT ANY FRAME | SUM8® — Naming, Brand Strategy and Visual Identity project Most growth agencies will take your budget, run your campaigns, and send you a report full of charts that don't connect to revenue. You've seen it before. Maybe you've lived it. SUM8 was built as the answer to that. Not an agency like the others, but A growth system. With a proprietary protocol, defined stages, and one goal: put the client at the top and make sure they stay there without depending on anyone to do it for them. Symbology of the name SUM8: Summit, Sum of all parts, 8 steps in the methodology. The number 8 sideways is the infinity symbol. This is the thought and work that went behind the naming project from where we built the foundation for our client. Our challenge was to build a visual identity that carried that weight. A brand that looks as serious as the promise it makes. That filters the right clients before they even reach out. That communicates authority without announcing it. The result is a brand that speaks the language of the people it was built for: operators, founders, and growth leaders who are done with noise and ready for infrastructure. Summit isn't somewhere you hope to reach. It's somewhere you build to. Credits - Visant Std. Designers who can’t talk to engineers and AI agents are about to get left behind. That’s why I’ve spent the last few months deep in design systems for LLMs and AI-driven programming. That’s the game now.
Gokul Rajaram@gokulr

DESIGN: THE FIRST AI CASUALTY I'm increasingly sure that 2026 signals the end of product design as a full-fledged stand-alone function within companies. If so, it will be the first role / function to be eliminated by AI on a go-forward basis. Instead of hiring FT designers, startups are hiring / will hire design consultants to create a design system that the founder likes (this takes a few weeks max). Once the design system is finalized, PM/Eng feed it into their AI tool of choice to generate prototypes. The design system is refreshed annually by the same consultant. Larger companies will likely not backfill design roles and will do some targeted attrition to reduce the design department to 20% the size it is today. If you're a designer, I think you have two choices: 1. Become an entrepreneur: Start a design agency and become the go-to resource for design systems for startups and even larger companies. This can be a good recurring revenue business. 2. Become a builder: Add PM/Eng responsibilities to become a product builder. Would suggest you embrace this proactively vs waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm really sorry about this - some of my best friends and the people I admire most and have learnt the most from are designers - but it seems inevitable.

It’s time to go beyond language models. Introducing Odyssey-2 Max, our most powerful world model yet. It materially advances the SOTA in physical accuracy. This is a big step toward models that simulate and interact with the world in real time. A new intelligence entirely!
