@RedsDaily4 The walks and not being comfortable attacking guys is why our bullpen is terrible right now. I don’t even care about the random HR because that can happen. Consistently walking batters is, or should be, unacceptable.
@LanceMcAlister Sonny Gray, Aroldis Chapman, most recently Tyler Calihan, just off the top of my head. Look at the Brewers when they pick up guys off waivers, they are clearly doing something that we are not.
I could make a lengthy list of #Reds players that fans tell me they are fed up with, want to demote, DFA, trade...
So, why let the front office/ownership off the hook by believing getting rid of the hitting coach, and/or pitching coach, and/or manager is the answer?
Spencer Steer is one of my favorite players on this team.
He is a liability at 2nd base.
It also makes no sense why Terry Francona keeps playing him at 2nd base.
This team…
#Reds manager Terry Francona talks to a reporter about the reasoning for 3 straight bunt plays last night against the padres. Francona literally has a ‘Fanduel’ app on his phone. #MLBrigged
Blake Dunn’s speed doesn’t get discussed enough. It’s truly elite. Add in the quality at-bats that he’s providing and a few key clutch hits, and he continues to make an impact.
Just a stray thought...
If I'm Tito, I'm telling Rhett Lowder ahead of his next start to throw strikes and worry about the rest later.
It would be so much better for him to get up 6 ER with 0 walks than 3 ER with 6 walks. Not learning anything by constantly walking 'em full.
It seems like every time the Reds’ broadcast talks about “guys seeing the ball well” it’s always about singles to the opposite field.
It’s usually followed by “they’re about to get hot” but the player just gets cold again & all they have to their line is some oppo singles.
@coreyelvis@Trags@willie_lutz That’s my point, don’t trade anyone. Just spend money. They were willing to spend on Schwarber because they valued what he would bring to the team. Do the same for Aroldis if Boston is serious about moving him.
@penjengw@Trags@willie_lutz gonna try this one more time...lol...what would U do?...not stuff bout ownership this or that...if u want something of value u r going to have give something of value...which player r u going to trade away for a pitcher that throws strikes?
The freefall Reds look like a team with very little hope of turning it around. It already feels like this is going to be a very dreadfully long summer. The assumption was that the Reds would still be relevant when Hunter Greene returns. That’s looking less and less likely.
