If you haven’t heard, we are expanding our Dominique Dawes Academy ‘s throughout the DMV & beyond. I couldn’t be more proud of our team and the mission we’ve accomplished in building happy, active, & strong kids. Gymnastics is the ultimate foundation for any athlete. I’m sure some of these soccer players were former gymnasts. Being a minority investor with the Washington Spirit has been so rewarding, especially having my kids see these amazing athletes in action. Yesterday we saw the return of Trinity Rodman as she netted the game winner at Audi Field in DC, in front of tens of thousands of fans. Such an incredible day for everyone. I brought my Gold Medal along and the players loved hearing about my story, especially since they weren’t even born when I won it in 1996. Haha!

Bryan Hodgson has built a South Florida team who should immediately compete in the American. He has a couple pieces from a really good Arkansas State program, a Power 5 starting center, and three transfers from programs who are coming off of some of their best seasons ever.

Ahmad was DOMINANT for @UPLAYCanada in the 17U Nike EYCL division, averaging a ridiculous 19.0 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 7.0 APG, 3.5 BLK, & 1.5 STL across two games after returning from injury late in the AAU season - including 17 PTS, 11 REB, 9 AST, & 4 BLK vs. Bates Fundamentals. With terrific size, an advanced handle & touch, deep range, and excellent feel as a playmaker, Ahmad has significant upside as a big guard who can make high level plays with the ball in his hands. There’s good players everywhere. The success stories are mainly players that was overlooked while growing up and somehow got the opportunity to prove themselves. Just because you’re good in 7th/8th doesn’t mean you’re going to be good in the 12th grade. I never seen so many potential NBA players hide on super teams just to try to save their social media legacy.

@CoachChelsWelch That is a strategy used in the recruiting process by players. Why do we see many updates on offers by players ??? But, that can work against a player as well. You could be limiting yourself by being too transparent.

I think it’s so interesting how some college coaches will offer a player simply because they see others in the same conference or same caliber offer them without doing the actual work of evaluating
