Everyone's talking about peptides. Finally, a place that makes sense of them.

Everyone is blown away by the new retatrutide trials. Frankly, I’m not. Yes, we’re seeing more total weight loss than tirzepatide. But more total weight loss does NOT automatically mean better body composition. And until we see the full DEXA scans, one of the most interesting metrics is this: 👉 pounds lost per inch off the waist. Why? Because if someone is losing dramatically more scale weight without proportionally more waist reduction, some of that extra loss may be coming from lean mass. Here’s what’s interesting: Tirzepatide 5mg: • ~35 lbs lost • ~5.7 inches off waist • ~6.1 lbs lost per inch Retatrutide 4mg: • ~47 lbs lost • ~6.4 inches off waist • ~7.4 lbs lost per inch So with retatrutide, you’re losing more total weight per inch off the waist. And even the highest dose of tirzepatide appears to be more muscle sparing than lowest dose of Reta. 6.7 lbs per inch vs. 7.4 per inch So Reta for physique optimization? Worse. The goal isn’t just becoming lighter. The goal is becoming leaner while keeping the physique powerful, athletic, and dense.

Retatrutide phase 3 obesity trial just came out and the results are genuinely insane: - 28.3% bodyweight lost on 12mg over 80 weeks - 70.3 pounds on avg. or 31.9 kg - 45.3% of patients hit 30%+ weight loss (this is bariatric surgery territory) - 30.3% weight loss (85 lbs) at 104 weeks in higher-BMI patients - 65.3% of 12mg patients dropped below the obesity BMI threshold - 19% loss on 4mg over 80 weeks (47.2 lbs) with fewer dropouts than placebo (4.1% vs 4.9%) - significant drops in blood pressure, triglycerides, non-HDL cholesterol, waist circumference, and hsCRP - no cardiac or liver signals Retatrutide is going to completely overshadow tirzepatide and semaglutide, and take the throne as the best-selling drug of all time.

@cremieuxrecueil Mostly good take. People with obesity should take Tirz. It’s already approved and does not increase RHR like Reta does.

Now that we have phase-3 results for retatrutide, it's time to revisit the question: What would happen to obesity if we gave every obese (BMI 30+) person the drug for just one year? Well, the obesity rate would fall by more than 80%! We'd be skinnier than the U.S. circa 1980!

@morellifit Genuinely curious of your thoughts on my take below. Tirz for medically Obese people Reta for everyone else x.com/pepguide/statu…
Pepguide AI@pepguide

@stackapp @maxmarchione Yeah my pov is that Tirz is phenomenal for anyone medically classified as obese (BMI of 30+), Reta is great for everyone else. My friend (F37) went from 140 to 120 in two months on Reta and never titrated to over 2mg/week (split dose). Currently on maintenance @ 1mg/wk.

@stackapp @maxmarchione Assuming you’re saying this because Tirz does not increase resting heart rate like Reta does? I agree if so (and have had more success with Tirz than Reta)

@pepguide @pepfessions aye ✋🤚 no harm no foul. i was just matching energy for energy. they also had an R100 sale from uther right before that. those amounts are mostly always custom batches and often times you can pick from either 3ml vials or 5ml for ease of reconstitution

@pepguide @pepfessions yes math is important. so is knowledge about peptides if you are going to make a shitty ai app. yes r140 means 140mg per vial. and a kit is 10 vials. that is the lingo in this space since you dont know. 10 x 140mg = 1,400mg $320/1,400mg = $0.2285/mg

@PeptidePartners Curious about this, have you ever seen decay? ***Me eyeing the ten years worth of Reta in my freezer. ***

👍Occasionally, we have batches re-certified to make sure our long-term storage is working as intended. Our BPC batch was initially certified 2 months ago, so we sent out 5 more randomly sampled vials for certification last week. March vs May. Everything is on point. No decay.

Reminder: a peptide can be 99% pure AND 42% short on actual dose. Different scam, same outcome for the buyer. Today's example: Skye Peptides IGF-LR3.
