@Grady_Booch Pure poetry, sir! This should be a pre-preface quote in an AI book. Fwiw, it made me chuckle.

“I think we will realize that we were standing in the foothills of the singularity.”
- Demis Hassabis
Agreed!
Insofar as one recognizes that between us and that so- called singularity is a vast plain, extending far beyond what our eye can see, that the air is hazy and thus our vision is unclear, and that while we now seem to stand on solid ground, a closer look at the immediate landscape reveals we are actually at a small, dry high point in a bog, surrounded by deep crevices and pools of odiferous, bubbling mud.
In the distance, we hear the strange, unsettling sounds of rodents of unusual size.

I found XRP in 2017.
first thing I heard:
"banker coin"
"centralized garbage"
"not real crypto"
"Ripple controls everything"
"it's a scam"
I almost kept scrolling.
something made me stop and actually look into it.
not the price.
not an influencer.
just curiosity about whether the things people were saying were actually true.
so I started reading.
I read about how money actually moves between countries.
about correspondent banks and nostro accounts.
about the trillions sitting idle just to make the system function.
about SWIFT being built in 1973 and never meaningfully updated.
about the real cost of sending money across borders for regular people.
first light bulb.
then I actually used it.
sent XRP to my wallet.
watched it arrive in 3 seconds.
looked at the fee.
looked at it again.
fractions of a cent.
then I sent Bitcoin.
waited.
waited more.
paid $15 in fees.
then Ethereum.
gas fees.
congestion.
still waiting.
second light bulb.
that was it for me.
no more questions.
no more debates.
no more listening to people who clearly hadn't used it.
just accumulation.
by any means necessary.
2017 to now.
the rest is history.
and the best part hasn't happened yet.

@adamscochran The more I see this and hear the hypocritical and devious statements of US 'politicians' (criminals, more accurately), the more I'm convinced these provocations are a deliberate attempt to create unrest in order to destabilize society, declare martial law, and avoid the midterms

This is called “brandishing” and when you do it to someone’s face, it is legally considered assault.
You do NOT have the right to point a gun in the face of an unarmed protestor, especially when you out number them, and have other options for de-escalation.
This is a CLEAR crime.

@HumansNoContext @FlyingDutchPall Staged. Just watch the arms of the other guy, esp. his left. You don't do that unless you know exactly how this lands.

@Grady_Booch Respectfully, how many artificial neurons do you estimate it would take to mimic an organic neuron?

@GMJanTimman Bd5 covers both c4 and f7 to prevent double attack with the rook, potentially followed by Ke4 to unpin? (nice one, even if I'm wrong)

@maxliani Good suggestions in this thread I didn't know. I've been using git bash for Windows and the find and grep commands with some satisfaction.

@kacieahmed Nice list. As a self taught software developer, I've spent quite some time catching up on these topics. It's not impossible, but I have wished I'd done a formal education in CS on multiple occasions. May I suggest adding basic knowledge of Operating Systems, and compilers?
English

@maxliani Makes sense, seems like a nice little hobby project. Thank you for sharing!

@pepper_peralta This is pumping the cold air up. It seems it does the trick. Total cost is around $250, most of it is for a high quality, quiet fan. I have chosen a product from AC Infinity and rebalanced the blades to reduce vibration further (a fun trial-error approach)
