@ScotPollard31 I certainly don't have the eye for basketball that you do, but I don't see a "KU level" athlete on their team. But they have five guys on the floor at all times with a green light. That certainly opens the floor on offense. They are absolutely gritty on defense. Fun team.
@thriftycars, I realize you are slammed with calls due to the weather. How does one change a reservation from one city to another? Do you actually have someone answering calls, or are there infinite hold times? Your website is brutally bad. Call me if you need help with that.
Going forward, Big 12 needs to embrace the basketball. That’s what the people come to see. That’s the show. Celebrate the quality of your teams. No need for shiny objects.
🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark tells @CBSSports the league is abandoning its LED glass floor and switching to hardwood overnight for the semifinals and title game the next two days. The coaches have agreed to the switch. Here's Yormark's statement. Story TK.
@GregThomp321@MattNorlander@CBSSports If you ever come to the Big 12 tournament, I'll be happy to buy you beers for the night. Just because that cracked me up. lol
@JD_RCJH@raprichard@tsnmike Do you agree that the Big 12 being a little progressive is a good thing? It's the best basketball conference in America, and has been for quite a while. But, we're still competing against the SEC/10.
@raprichard@perch24@tsnmike Agreed 100% the court design was lackluster. Wish they would have incorporated both teams’ home designs into the floor somehow
@perch24@MattNorlander@CBSSports I agree it’s a good move to go back but it’s a horrible look that the girls had to play on it all last week and the boys get to go back to what they are comfortable with.
@raprichard@JD_RCJH@tsnmike I've heard, but have no idea, that the court color choice was because the players had a hard time seeing the lines with other colors. I'm a big fan of trying things and changing your mind when they don't work. I say kudos to the Big 12. No, I'm not Yormark. Just a big KU fan.
@JD_RCJH@perch24@tsnmike So many cool things they could have done and they went with gray all over. Agree with the team's designs and colors. An opportunity missed.
@JD_RCJH@raprichard@tsnmike I'd argue you are less likely to get a severe injury on a slightly slippery floor. Groin injuries are probably the most likely scenario. But, yes, good decision. Also, it was ugly AF on TV.
@raprichard@perch24@tsnmike Last thing the Big 12 needed was a hurt superstar in the semifinals or finals.
Surprised it took this long to dump it but the groin injury this morning was the nail in the coffin.
Hopefully the tech gets better.
@raprichard@tsnmike@JD_RCJH Maybe I don't necessarily care about that. But it's better to look ahead in the Big 12 than to remain in the status quo. And also, it's good to have a leader who will admit and correct a mistake.
@perch24@tsnmike@JD_RCJH This is 100% correct. The technology is just not quite there yet to make the court work. But I guarantee you we see more and more of it in the future. They'll figure out the traction and make it better.
@tsnmike@JD_RCJH When you're competing against the evil empires of the Big 10 and the SEC, you have to zig a bit when they do nothing. I think you would agree, Yormark has been great for the Big 12, right? I've enjoyed Big 12 basketball under his tenure. Good before, better now.
@AlexGold This is 100% the correct answer. I love that he tried something different. And that he realized it went wrong. The only loser is the LED floor company.
Brett Yormark can/should be criticized for the LED floor, but I also applaud him for being willing to switch it mid-tournament. Semi’s have some unreal matchups tomorrow.
@perch24@kent_swanson It’s still very grey but because the black is so damn muted. If the black was deeper and had some pop it would look great. Still much better in person than on TV.
