On June 22 1982, Joe Biden was a Senator from Delaware and confronted then Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin during his Senate Foreign Relations committee testimony, threatening to cut off aid to Israel. Begin forcefully responded, “Don’t threaten us with cutting off your aid. It will not work. I am not a Jew with trembling knees. I am a proud Jew with 3,700 years of civilized history. Nobody came to our aid when we were dying in the gas chambers and ovens. Nobody came to our aid when we were striving to create our country. We paid for it. We fought for it. We died for it. We will stand by our principles. We will defend them. And, when necessary, we will die for them again, with or without your aid.” Senator Biden reportedly banged on the table with his fist, and Begin retorted, “This desk is designed for writing, not for fists. Don’t threaten us with slashing aid. Do you think that because the US lends us money it is entitled to impose on us what we must do? We are grateful for the assistance we have received, but we are not to be threatened. I am a proud Jew. Three thousand years of culture are behind me, and you will not frighten me with threats. Take note: we do not want a single soldier of yours to die for us.”

I was thinking exactly this. Why the siege on Rafah tonight? It's because they know Americans are distracted. It's like the temporary Ceasefire for Black Friday. American militarism IS American consumerism. There's no separating the two.
Karen Attiah@KarenAttiah

It is bone-chillingly American that Israel’s government can fund multi -million dollar ads for the Super Bowl to distract us from the launch of an offensive to cleanse Palestinians from Rafah. Atrocities backed by the U.S. government. Blood-stained bread and circuses.

This song makes me cry every time I hear it. It’s a prayer to the angels in heaven to ask Hashem to have mercy on his children. So beautiful.

35-year-old Elkana Vizel, a married father of four, was one of the 21 Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza yesterday. He left his family a letter. It reads as follows: If you are reading these words, something must have happened to me. First, in the event that I have been taken captive, I demand that no deal for the release of a single terrorist be made for my release. Our resounding victory is more important than anything else, so please simply continue putting all of your effort into ensuring that our victory is as resounding as possible. Perhaps I have been killed in battle. When a soldier is killed in battle, it's sad. But I ask you to be happy. Don't be sad when you bid farewell to me. Sing a lot, enter people's hearts, hold one another's hands and strengthen one another. We have so much to be proud of and be happy about. We are a generation of redemption! We are writing the most significant moments in the history of our nation and of the entire world. So I ask you to please be optimistic. Keep always choosing life – a life of love, hope, purity, and optimism. Look those who are dear to you in the whites of their eyes and remind them that everything they experience in this life is worth it and they have a great deal to live for. Live! Don't stop the power of life for even a single moment! I was already wounded in Operation Protective Edge. I had the option of staying behind, but not for a moment do I regret my decision to go back into combat. On the contrary: it's the best decision I ever made.

Sec Blinken: “What is striking to me is that even as we hear many countries urging an end to this conflict, I hear virtually no one demanding of Hamas that it stop hiding behind civilians, that it lay down its arms, that it surrender. This is over tomorrow, if Hamas does that." UNSC member states would be well advised to heed the words of Sec Blinken, ahead of upcoming vote on Gaza ceasefire resolution.

IDF Sgt. Major (res.) Ben Zussman, fell in battle in the Gaza Strip last week, heroically fighting for his nation. Epitome of courage, leadership, Zionism and love, he penned this powerful last letter to his family: “I am writing this letter to you as I am heading to the base. If you are reading it, something must have happened to me. You know me, so no one could be happier than me right now. It was no coincidence that I was on the verge of fulfilling my dream. I am happy and grateful for the privilege I will have to defend our beautiful land and the people of Israel. In case something happens to me, I forbid you from sulking in sorrow. I’ve had the privilege of fulfilling my dream and destiny and you can be certain that I am looking down on you with a huge smile. I will probably sit next to grandpa and catch up on what we’ve missed, each of us will share our experiences and what’s changed between the wars. Maybe we’ll also talk a little politics, and I’ll ask him what he thinks. If God forbid you are sitting shiva (the week of mourning), transform it into a week of friends, family and fun. There should be good food, meat of course, beer, soft drinks, nuts, and of course mom’s cookies. Tell jokes, share stories and you’ll get to meet all the rest of my friends that you haven’t yet met. You know? I envy you. I would want to sit there and see everyone. Another matter that is very, very important. If God forbid, I fall into captivity, dead or alive. I will not allow a single soldier or citizen to be harmed because of some bargaining made for my release. I forbid you to conduct a campaign or struggle or anything of the sort. I am not willing to have terrorists released for me. In no way, shape or form. Don’t misconstrue my words please. I’ll say it again, I left the house without even being called up to reserve duty. I am filled with pride and a sense of purpose and I always said that if I have to die, I wish it would be in defense of others and the State. ‘Jerusalem, I have placed guards, that one day will come and I will be one of them.’” May Ben's memory be forever blessed! 🕯️ 🇮🇱 Translation by his cousin @mikeeisenberg.

Oh my goodness. “My husband, an IDF Rabanut soldier, went into Gaza with a tiny Torah scroll (look at the picture). This Torah scroll is an exact replica of a Torah scroll that was smuggled into and survived the extermination camps. In Bergen- Belzen, Bar Mitzvah boys read from it - risking their own life to keep the jewish tradition. One of the children, Yehoyakim Yosef, survived the Holocaust and immigrated to Israel with the Torah scroll. Years later he became Professor Yehoyakim Yosef at the Technion and taught Ilan Ramon (the first Israeli astronaut). When Ilan Ramon ascended into space, he was given the Torah scroll by the professor. From space, he told the story of the tiny Torah scroll and the miraculous survival of the Jewish people - "Am Yisrael Chai". The tragic end of the space shuttle is known - the shuttle crashed and Ilan Ramon and the other astronauts did not survive. The Torah scroll did not survive either. My father-in-law, Neil Rubinstein, heard about this story a few years ago and was very moved. He established a project to rewrite the tiny Torah scroll... This tiny Torah scroll, an exact replica of the one that survived the camps and so powerfully symbolizes the eternity of the Jewish people, entered Gaza. My husband, Aryeh Rubinstein, had the privilege to take it in. Soldiers read from the torah and danced with it and declared once again and always- "Am Yisrael Chai". Onions…

December 2023. The presidents of Harvard and Penn are asked whether calling for the genocide of the Jews (aka, another Holocaust) violates their code or rules. Their answer: it depends. ** I don’t know whether they’ve lost their moral compass or they’re just terrified of the mob. Probably both. I do know that having a strong, independent Israel is as important as ever. We’re on it. Am Yisrael Chai עם ישראל חי🇮🇱

x.com/repstefanik/st… Five chilling minutes in which Harvard President Claudine Gay, admits that certain statements are anti-Semitic and even call for clear murder against Jews. However, when she is confronted with these statements being made on campus during protests and demonstrations, she is unable to condemn them. A horrific display by the president of the most prestigious university in the world. What is happening in the United States? #Harvard #ClaudineGay
