@EdLatimore In my 50s. Never got married. Wished I had.

While I'm a big believer in not having kids if you don't want them... I also wish I'd had my son maybe 3 years earlier. But that's only in hindsight and seeing how great this dad life is. I'm undecided on wanting more though. If he had cousins or a family presence locally, I'd *probably* feel differently.

4. Someone always has it tougher I was on welfare and living in the projects, but at least my mom wasn't a crackhead. I knew a few kids who got taken my CYS because of shit like this. My mom only went to jail once. But some parents were always in the system.

7. Dealing with trauma is a privilege Life has always been hard. But when you're busy surviving, you don't have time to worry about that. Even if it's holding you back. A lot of what I witnessed was likely people just trying to survive the best way they knew how to.

10. Most people ain't gonna make it Be lucky you were born where you were and can read this. Most won't ever see it. Most won't even know they can do better. If all you know is what you know from birth, then is it really your fault you end up repeating "generational curses"?
