On this day a year ago, I was walking out of the office for the last time after handing in my laptop and other work items. I had handed in my notice a month earlier and that was it, 5 years of comfortable employment were over. I didn't really have a lot of savings but I had a plan. Me and my friends were going to build a gaming launcher. We had already been working on an MVP for a few months prior and things were coming along. 2 Weeks into my new situation I took a risk, I flew out to Miami Art Basel by myself with the last of my money. Out there I met some amazing people, friends I still have to this day. I also stumbled into 2 pieces of freelancing work after people there learnt I was a dev. Me and a friend have had a software company for the last few years, we never actually made any money but we tried 101 things and learned 1000 more. When I got home we started working with the first client. We completed the project and got paid just before the end of the year. We were still at a net loss for the year but it was a start. Over the next few months the gaming launcher struggled to get outside attention and eventually failed, I went through many hardships but also had a lot of great times. The one constant that kept us afloat was the clients. The people we had worked with recommended us to others and our list grew. If you are reading this its quite likely you have interacted with something we were involved with even if you don't know it. First and foremost this message is a thank you. Thank you to every client who believed in us. Thank you to @DylanKentish for taking this risk with me, and for the countless hours of dev work you have put in to get us this far. Thank you to @BakedByNorth for the thousands of design hours you have put in. A thank you to @wabdoteth and the rest of the Sappy Seals team for giving us a permanent place to help shape the future of this space. Lastly, a thank you to everyone I have met at events or interacted with through this app. You make this journey all the more worthwhile. Secondly this message is a reminder that you are in control of your own life. Don't let the fear of failure or the path set out by ordinary people keep you back. I am not rich, I work more hours than most. But I am free and the rest will come. Things never work out the way that you think they will, but that doesn't mean that they don't work out at all.

Are you addicted to social media? If I were to ask you to delete all social media apps of your phone and stay off them on any other medium, how long do you think you would last? I tried this myself with Instagram, for the first few days I would go to open the app on autopilot for no reason and I installed it again within a week. Using the app does not make me feel good and there is no rational reason to use it. I uninstall it again and have gone through the same cycle multiple times. Every single aspect of these apps is designed to sap your attention, to get you to stay on the app for longer so you view more ads. The real world is much better. Our brains are not adapted to place us on a hierarchy of thousands. Which is exactly what happens on an App like Instagram. As a man it does not take long for you to find someone with more money, more status, a better body etc etc (What is worse, is that a lot of this is fake). All of these things move you down a peg within your own mind. No cope about not comparing yourself with others can save you, its hard wired into our brains. Would love to hear your thoughts on this, is this something you have tried? Do you genuinely feel good after using an app like that?

@VaderResearch however, if a smart contract is on-chain, it will remain unchanged forever - easy integration for developers - one-time integration for developers - any and all data is available - skin-based businesses won't need to depend on launchers

@VaderResearch if a launcher is unhappy with the existence of an app, it can private its api at any point the data available on skin trading goes far beyond what launchers provide through their public APIs this is currently not accessible to the public
