A Yahoo boy successfully defrauded his foreign client of $80,000. He needed an account to receive the money, so he reached out to an Aza man. The Aza man received the funds but turned around and told him the account was frozen and the money was gone. The Yahoo boy knew it was a lie. He brought the police to arrest the Aza man, but the family quickly bailed him out for 1 million naira. Now he has hired cultists to hunt the Aza man down, and the guy has been on the run ever since. Here is my question: Why are Yahoo boys so enraged when someone steals from them, yet they steal from others without blinking? This man defrauded someone abroad. Honestly… it’s scary out here. A young person finishes school, gets posted, serves, comes back, and suddenly Lagos is asking for almost ₦10 million just to start breathing. Rent alone can wipe out ₦3–₦5m once you add agent, caution, and advance. Basic furniture, small fridge, gas, mattress, another ₦2m is gone. Laptop, phone, data, power, you’re pushing ₦1m. Then food, transport, random emergencies… life keeps happening. And after all this, the same system offers you ₦150k–₦250k salary and says be patient. Patient for what, exactly? An economy where graduates can’t afford adulthood is not a healthy one. The truth is simple: the cost of life has completely divorced income. The future doesn’t feel exciting to many young people anymore. And until we stop pretending everything is fine, this problem will only get worse.

We need to push for the removal of bottlenecks in the housing sector to make life easier for citizens.

Everybody in Lagos is facing their demon. 1. Either you face transportation cost or you face house rent. But will you leave a place where you could possibly get a house of 500 -600k and go rent a 3.5 - 5million house because of proximity to work? How much is the annual renumeration of the job itself?

Going by your statement, if his workplace is in Lekki and he decides to rent a house in the mainland (I don't know how the distance could be) don't you think transportation would also affect him?
