@jeremygiffon True — but as a counter, don’t you think much of the talent in the valley is motivated by impact not pure earnings? Folks wanting to progress ai as an example will value open missions and non competes over a paycheck. Compared to finance people who just want a paycheck.

Seems like a lot of the tacit "social contracts" of the Valley are breaking down under the pressure of all the inbound capital. Doesn't take a lot of that to end up back at non-competes, gardening leave, long legal processes, starting from a place of distrust, etc.

@HipCityReg Seems like large companies have to externalize some cost onto the system - either in the form of pollution or poor labor conditions…and I bet many artists are unwilling to push to this scale, while the take over the world types don’t seem to care.
