Most adult men have no business talking about marksmanship or shooting on the Internet.

@FidelCacheFlow Thank you sir. 🫡 I can sell, just need to learn and understand the nuances, especially when it comes to hunting, which is different in my industry than SaaS.

Broadly speaking I’ve never believed in sales training - esp general ‘sales’ training If you have to be an actor to play out a role you’re gonna lose due to lack of conviction or burn out due to lack of cohesion. Frameworks + principles >>>

Figured yeah. I’m in industrial setting now and diving into emotional “what behind that” 4 different times just feels like a violation. They’re not trying to get in better shape so their husband likes them. And Not that there’s nothing valuable from it ofc but certain things don’t seem to translate to 6 fig manufacturing deals lol.

@MikeCalcara Those are a lot of fun, tried one at a launch event last year. They’ll make your stash of 9mm disappear into a pile of brass and smoke 🤣

I don't talk about shooting at the range much here, but for those of you who do, I want your take on my morning. My range rents a $4,000 Staccato HD C4X and a $500 Taurus for the same price. On Wednesdays both are free. That's the equivalent of handing you keys to a Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a Honda Civic for the same rate. That world doesn't exist anywhere else. But somehow it does at my range this month. Nobody shoots a Staccato and walks away thinking the Taurus felt the same. The trigger, the grip, the way it runs. It ruins you. I don't think that's by accident. There's a version of this where it's genuinely well-intentioned. You know, let every shooter, regardless of budget, put their hands on what they're actually considering before they spend the money. But there's also a Dr. Evil version where the range knows exactly what they're doing. You shoot it, you love it (you can't not), and by the time you're in the parking lot, you've already justified it to yourself. They don't need to sell you anything. You walked back to the counter and did it yourself. ("You" can be substituted for "I" in all of these instances). Can't stop thinking about it and im doing mental financial gymnastics as a result. What do you guys think? Also, have you ever shot a Staccato before? If you haven't, don't. Unless you can afford to, in which case, carry on.

@MikeCalcara Re: the Gen6s, Glock did a wonderful job with them and I’m confident saying that they’re extremely accurate for what they are. I’ve seen their production facility and QC is impeccable.

@MikeCalcara When I shot my HD P4.5 for review off the sandbag, it felt more like a rifle than a mere pistol. Still haven’t shot it as much as I’d like.

@AJA_Cortes In a different comment you mention that the rowers don't personally work for you, but aside from that, would most of what you write still apply to them?

There was a time with all centerfire rifles came with iron sights, and now very few do. The strange rear sight placement on the Staccato HD C4X makes me wonder if we are heading that way on pistols.

@PatricksHelmets @Grunt2A @Guntalk Having handled most major handgun designs with dots, including the original wave of the Staccato P, I do concur. I really like this. It seems to work quite well with that ACRO P-2 too.

@Guntalk At this point just leave it off What purpose does it serve being that close to the post? Just slap a factory installed red dot on it, add $200 to the price tag, and call it a day

I spied this Aztec Jaguar warrior at a little shop on the Malecon in Puerto Penasco last weekend. I first learned about these fierce fighters from @tannerguzy. This one now resides in my study to remind me that “real men care how they look.”

@WeLikeShooting They recontoured the grip. Angle never changed. Nothing fundamental about the Glock's design changed with the Gen6. No need to, IMO. The "recipe" is pretty good...

@mhp_guy I have no connection to either BP or Scheels, but as an outdoors customer and consumer, Scheels is eating their lunch. Selections and offerings and even the inclusion of higher-end brands amongst niche categories.

I walked into Cabela’s tonight for the first time in 5 years. I notice the sign also says Bass Pro. Huh. Whatever. I walk in and they say “welcome to outdoor world!” Uh, ok. Three names? Wasn’t the merger a decade ago? There are more employees than customers. Total crickets. 77,000 empty square feet. The dude at the entry gives me the hard sell to join their rewards program, while the outside air is still on my neck. I’m just here for a knife dude. I won’t be back for another 5 years. I wrangle from his grasp. As we go to leave they push me to join their rewards program yet again. What a trainwreck. This is what poor management looks like.
