@theficouple No. The only scenario where I support this is if the parents are taking the “rent” money from their kid and putting it in an investment acct for them to receive when they move out The point is to help your child accumulate assets, not keep being extracted from

@KordyEsq I understand your concern about how it borders on inferiority complex, but guy, sometimes, when you interact with people, you just NEED to communicate. And making them understand you, by tweaking the accent is NEVER a bad idea.

The best part of this video for me is that she doesn't code switch. She uses the same intonations, terms, expressions and speech style like a proper Nigerian in Nigeria. Not my black Nigerian brothers and sisters. Our excuse is we think we're making it easier for the listener.

@FinnMcKay25 @EPLBible Given that women don’t play American Football seriously, all the female athletes that would’ve played American football play football(Soccer) and they are one of the best teams out there

@EPLBible Americans fail to understand that maybe athleticism is a minor part of football when compared to skill and athleticism? Like is that so hard to understand. Messi is so athletic isn’t he? Like what?

@Chi974257041672 @UchePOkoye Exactly. FBA are a loud minority that can’t even fill a stadium in Atlanta, Jackson, Detroit or Chicago. Black Americans on average are neutral towards Africans. They have bigger issues to deal with than a group that’s less than 5% of the immigrant population.

@UchePOkoye FBA are social media sponsored group that has no single leverage outside social, unlike South Africans that majority has agreed on one thing.

@EuginhoCortez Pidgin English has been a thing for 300 years. At what point would we stop calling it a pidgin given that we have adults who are incompetent in every other language in Nigeria except it? At this point, it is no longer a pidgin given the definition of what a pidgin is.

In mono-ethnic societies, the native language is what even outsiders must speak to be understood So there's less pressure to learn pidgin Pidgin is necessitated by one person being incompetent in the language of the other person In of itself, it is a functionally mediocre language If the people in the conversation are excellent in another true language be it Yoruba, Igbo or English, they are better off using that instead Because it's better built for indepth conversation
Son of Camp Nou@clintonnzedimma

Your first paragraph, Are you also going to say native languages are the middle ground for communication in poor mono ethnic societies or is that what your last paragraph suggests also?

@WR4NYGov You can’t reasonably predict populations more than 10 years out. Imagine predicting the world population in 2026 from 1926 using birth rates in 1926😂

@Wignersfriend_ @NgugiEvuti @asemota No, Abuja should have with signs, pamphlets & easily identifiable agents any visitor can approach. If a visitor has to rely on the honesty of a stranger to use private- operated ‘public’ transport, then it does not have Public Transport as is the complaint here

Abuja has no transport system. It’s a mystery how people without cars get around. Someone dropped me off at Berger junction yesterday and I did not know how to get to Mabushi with my dignity intact.

@Wignersfriend_ @NgugiEvuti @asemota No. A global city should be easy to navigate by strangers. A visitor should be able to land in Abuja and go anywhere by public transport with lots of help from well placed signs and pamphlets. You don’t need to ask questions, we are not surrounded by our distant relatives

@phantomtky @NgugiEvuti @asemota If you haven’t used it before you have to ask my guy! Even if you are in another country, don’t you ask questions when using public transportation especially when you’re just starting? Which road network will you use that you won’t ask questions when you just start using it?

@NgugiEvuti @asemota Erm… so here’s the thing, Abuja actually hss good transport system, most times, we suffer from lack of knowledge. During my service year, I learned that there is no where you want to go to in Abuja that you won’t see along, you just have to ask the right people.
