After a long and brave fight, he lost the battle to diabetes. He will be remembered for many things, but most importantly, for being a voice that resonated with many people. google.com/amp/s/www.news…

@pheniassadondo Yah you are absolutely right. Myself I have become doubtful and will only put one hectare of maize this farming season. The rains are really sketchy. Buy end of Dec we will be in a position to make some meaning conclusions to weather we have a drought or not

@TinasheKaduwo You're right Sir. Distribution is now what's more important at this stage. Projections look at quantities and spatial distribution, not temporal distribution. But for the farmer, distribution across the season is important.

Zimbabwe was expecting a normal to above season this farming season but the situation on the ground is dire. Just been told of someone who planted maize twice on his 18ha farm. twice the crop failed to germinate. We are reeling from #climatechange #ClimateCrisis #ClimateAction

@sandiemaka Can you imagine that. There's definitely a third force involved kkk. Our projections will be more and more off due to this #climatevariability. The stories from the farms are depressing. Some have planted twice already. The bill is ballooning

@DereckDzvene You see. Early warning systems are key here. Whilst we can't change anything, let's at least see it coming. Surprises are costly

@rickymanuwere And we are still counting. Not sure if he is going to try again for the third time if we finally receive some decent rains. This year everyone was upbeat and tried to do something in the fields. I hope it won't discourage farmers, especially young farmers, from pursuing the trade

@0RghcRJTDsIhRj9 That's very true. The ordinary farmers in the villages don't know what's hitting them since the information is nicely packaged in a way that misrepresent the reality. For agric dependent economies, this spells a crisis. It's about time this be said as it is.

@pheniassadondo The climate is changing and for a simple farmer it is not predictable! The causes of climate change are well known to the states of all countries, but people are presented with false information. Please see this conference: youtu.be/hRVCDgRTuHY #time4truth #ClimateCrisis

We hope in the next few days we will get some rains. The crops that germinated are suffering from moisture stress. And it's about time to shift from rainfed agric and rely on our water bodies for irrigation. @basera_john @zinwawater @MSDZIM
