Basic lessons for dealing with current events and not making an 🍑 of yourself… 1) Assume the news is often lying and at a minimum trying to drive engagement (not inform you) 2) Wait at least two days for more evidence of the actual event in question 3) Recognize we live in a country of 330 million people so many statistically rare events will happen often (even monthly). 4) there is always a back story you won’t know for at least a few days
