Major take away from the Press Conferences. McDavid & Draisaitl came across as more committed to drastically improving and winning than Knoblauch & Bowman. Katz year end management review needs to answer one question: Is this the GM/Coach that wins a championship next year?

@Boomy2007 That’s an issue then. I actually think Bowman has done good work with the edges of the lineup. But can he make the big swings for a goaltender and top forward to close out a cup win? I’m less sure after today.

@CommonConsv Stu just went 0-3 in the playoffs and lost the net to his backup - again. Never been the answer but the trade was awful.

@OilersJack A defining moment of this season was the awful Skinner, Kulak, future 2nd round for Jarry and Poulin. The though 4 months from the playoffs, the team was actually playing better then and was finding a stride. Jarry was atrocious. Ingram would have made a good backup to Stu.

Stories of the Oilers Season: Knoblauch completely implodes when given full control, Coffey comes back to help save the season but it’s too little too late. Stan Bowman and the Oilers still do not know how to evaluate, acquire and manage goalies. Critical problem. The Oilers stars have played way too much hockey the last three years (SCFs + Olympics) injuries and fatigue finally hit hard. Evan Bouchard is getting even better (Norris level season), Darnell Nurse is getting worse (7 goals for, 7 own goals). Big steps forward from rookies and young players is exciting. Savoie, Hutson, Howard, Samenski + Bowman’s work on the edges of the lineup is actually quite good. Dickinson, Kapanen, Murphy, Podkolzin + Two more years of a signed McDavid. Better make them count if you want more of them.

@Jetssuckass1 @Republicanuck Maybe. But run the whole process. When you jump ahead you miss candidates like Bill Zito and end up with Ken Hollands. It’s worth taking the time to get it right and evaluate the whole field.

@Republicanuck I think it’s time they start running proper interview processes and take the best available option. The team deserves the best out there. Coffey is great with the D. If he wants to stay he could but get the best HC.

Knoblauch goes 0-3 on the road in the playoffs for a first round exit. Absolutely embarrassed by Quenneville and Woodcroft when they had the last change. Outcoached is an understatement.

Trent Frederick (4MM) has scored 4 goals this year. Darnell Nurse (9.25MM) has scored 7 goals on his own net this year.

You can’t Stop Darnell Nurse you can only hope to Contain him.

Darnell Nurse Regular Season Own Goals: 5 Playoff Own Goals: 2 This guy is absolutely lethal on his own net.

Darnell Nurse has 7 regular season goals this year and 0 playoff goals. He has also scored 5 own goals during the regular season and 2 own goal in playoffs. He now has just as many goals on his OWN net as he has on the opponents net this year. Insane.
