Y'all give it up for the FIRST Black Woman Doctor in the US and celebrate 🥳 her birthday today!! Born Feb 8 1831, became a nurse then a Doctor on March 1, 1864 at 33 years, had her practice at 67 Joy St published her "A Book on Medical Discourses" in 1883 at 52 yrs. #NowYouKnow

Feb 8 is #NationalBlackWomenPhysicians Day in honor of Dr Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the FIRST #BlackWomanDoctor in the US. We love to call her Boston's First Diva Doc! She graduated from #medschool in Boston, owned a brownstone in Beacon Hill where she practiced & published a book!
