@beastieboy07 To be that talented at 15 is amazing, but T20 conditions are so much in favour of the batter that it is hard to judge his real talent until he plays test cricket.

So excited to see Oli Peake become the youngest specialist batter to play for Australia in ODIs at 19. But must admit that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi with his exploits at 15 has completed complicated my understanding of what constitutes being “young” in cricket

Absolutely spot on. Of the three only Marnus has any sort of test match credentials. While this was an ODI, none of them faced enough balls to demand a spot in either squad. Talk of Green opening v Bangladesh is ludicrous.
Gary Anderson@aptwasteoftime

@amenners no surprise Inglis, Green & Marnus all out to spin, three of them have no idea how to play spin. At what point do you say enough is enough with Green repeated failures?

@mrandrewdickson VAR literally decided the title this year. Overturning the clear offside affectively handed Celtic the title. Laughable.

If application of VAR continues to be so explicitly wrong, it’ll only harm Scottish football more. Our game will become a bigger laughing stock, players won’t want to play there, some will lose interest/go elsewhere. A radical overhaul is needed now before the point of no return.

@LachlanSherriff Let’s be clear-he did not reach out to Australia after Italy was knocked out. Australia has most definitely contacted him, and started a conversation. In no world is he doing this off his own back. On that basis, he should be welcomed into the fold.

If Volpato is ready to commit to Australia, that's great. I look forward to seeing him play for us and I won't hold the past against him. He shouldn't be going to the 2026 World Cup. Too late for that and it sets a terrible precedent if he does.

@Haydenfreedom Make no mistake, he didn’t come up with this idea by himself. As soon as Italy were knocked out, the Aust. Hierarchy would’ve been in his ear trying to convince him to play for Australia. There is no way he contacted them cap in hand.

Nah fuck him. Didn’t want to play for Australia until Italy was ineligible. I’d rather be shit with players who want to represent the country than good with a bunch of grifters

BREAKING: Cristian Volpato is set to complete a sensational switch from Italy to Australia on the eve of the World Cup. ESPN understands the dual international will join the Socceroos camp in LA on Saturday. ESPN's @joeylynchy has the story 📝: bit.ly/4dWnwJr

What is all of this James Hird paranoia about? Personally I’d select him immediately. He’s an outstanding candidate with great experience and knowledge. Hinkley wouldn’t compete with Hird that’s why he’s taking his precious stance. Hinkley and Simpson are trying to manipulate the process. Just make a decision…..one is yes I’m in the other is no I’m not. You can’t have it both ways by saying I’ll nominate if you delete Hirds application. I’m a Hird fan. Couldn’t give a stuff about the past (which is a whole suspicious story in itself by AFL) I’m only interested in the very best person to lift the club out of the mire and return it to respect and success - and that’s James Hird.

One-in, all-I’m. How good that all Collingwood players will wear gold numbers today. What a fantastic look for Pendles’ record-breaking 433rd AFL game .. more at Superfooty

@PeterJCrows I’m optimistic as well BUT they simply must adapt the game plan, as most other sides have this year so far. Also need to win these close ones-a bad habit that is entrenched. Lastly, look at the assistants & change now-Burns and Godden out, VB on last legs.

Line through us for 2026? Not quite sure about that just yet. Still a decent list of key players either injured and coming back, or back but needing games. Bye comes at a good time. Still think we could get to 16 wins with fresh players that have missed games early. Bit to go yet

AFL is unwatchable, the umpires have been sucked in by the Adelaide crowd. Got Adelaide back into the game with a ridiculous holding the ball then the 50. I’m done going to to watch the VFL absolutely fucked this game the umpires #aflcrowsroos

Pendlebury could wear up to a dozen of the gold number jumpers during the record breaking game. Game No.433 set to be a huge commercial windfall for him, Collingwood and the AFL and fair enough too.
Callum Twomey@CalTwomey

The AFL has approved Collingwood’s request for Scott Pendlebury to be able to wear a gold No.10 in his record-breaking game. Over to the Pies champ now if he dons it as part of Collingwood’s range of planned celebrations.
