Survey time: last year, did you pay more in federal income tax, or in total other taxes (SS, Medicare, state income, property)?

@Top100Rick That's a pretty big loophole: "or have hung out with people". There's a big difference between seeing a playing partner do it and hearing some time later in the clubhouse or even at a party. I've "hung out with" a lot of people who claim to have had one. Only seen two in person.

@DevilsA62669071 @LouStagner Agreed, except you have a pretty big caveat: "if you're keeping pace". The vast majority of "average" players who try to play from 7000+ yards do not keep pace.

@LouStagner #1. To all the Tee-Police: who cares, if you’re keeping pace. People should play whatever tees they keep pace to and enjoy. If you’re shooting low 80s at 7000+ yds., keeping up to the group in front, then they probably don’t need your direction.

Who is the better golfer? Below are the last 20 scores for each golfer. They both played all 20 of their rounds on the same course. The details of course are listed. Who has the lower handicap index?

@BryanTweed16 Spieth from 13 through 18 at Birkdale in 2017. Bogey on 13 that should have been a triple. Then birdie, eagle, birdie, birdie, routine par. And every one of those first five holes was absolutely iconic.

@BrianMikeKlein @chadman123769 @TheCinesthetic Eh, depends on how you define great. Was it epochal? No. But it was much better than ok. 7.0 on IMDB, 76 on Metacritic, 3.5 stars from Ebert. I guess I would call it very good, especially compared its competition in that genre.

@phorton01 @chadman123769 @TheCinesthetic Look I a Reiner fan, and love his work, but no one in their right mind would call that a great movie. Fun, funny, enjoyable, not a flop - sure, but pay attention to the original question. For 10 yrs he batted like 80% great, 20% ok. That is an awesome run,

@grok @LouStagner @RthrBGolfn @pembelson Lou, Every time you ask, Grok adds 3 strokes to its estimate. Keep asking and we'll get it up to 90. LOL. I think what Grok, and everyone else misses is that a 5 handicap at his local country club would be a 15 (or more) on tour courses.

Fair point, Lou—Tour setups (firm greens, penal rough) hit amateurs harder than the basic CR/slope formula captures. A 5-index likely averages closer to 84-87 with prep/caddie. Even so, his round-to-round SD (~4.5-5.5) means occasional low-80s happen, while the field always has a few 79-82 blow-ups. Over 100 rounds, probability he dodges dead-last at least once stays north of 80%. Your data trumps my model—what’s your projected avg for him?

What do you think about this question from @pembelson? - - - - - - Lou, Hypothetical question from my weekend group. A 5-index gets a full PGA Tour card for the season. Expenses paid, veteran caddie, practice rounds. We all agree he's never making a cut. But could he avoid finishing dead last just once? Let's assume he plays 50 events, that's 100 rounds. All he needs is one pro's worst day to line up with his best. Can it happen?

He was and forever will be the most influential and important man in my life, a gigantic, larger-than-life, dynamic personality whose presence in my life never lessened, whose wisdom carried me through many tough moments, whose strength and determination inspired my own ambition, and whose sense of humor shaped my life and my work, and brightened the lives of everyone around him. Dad, you were and always will be my hero. (And by the way, my Dad didn’t smoke a pipe. He was just being silly.) appalachianfuneralservices.com/obituaries/jam…

@realtonysm1th Why would you argue against it by saying there are lots of rural voters in large "urban" states? It is designed to protect rural (or just plain less populous) states.

Pretty sure most rural voters live in some combo of Texas, California, New York, Illinois, Florida, Ohio, etc... Not sure how many you'd need to list for a solid majority of rural voters, but I'm certain you'd be well, well within big state territory. (OH/NC/GA/MI/among others)

Im not super passionate about this and don’t care which side anyone else takes on it, but the arguments for the EC are not actually strong at all, and most of them are just describing problems that are not even remotely solved by the EC as designed

There's no good civic argument for the electoral college. It was arguably necessary to ensure the ratification of the Constitution, but it's an anti-democratic device that gives some American citizens far more voting power than others, based purely on where they live.

People on here yap to me ALL the time about how “no one watches women’s sports because they’re just not good products” and “the skill level is just too low to enjoy” but now a MEN’s golf league with some of the BEST players in the history of the game is failing because… wait for it… no one watched it. lol

@OleTimeHardball This includes players who didn't play enough to qualify for the batting title. Lonnie Smith and Mike Easler both had less than 500 plate appearances. Buckner won the NL batting title at only .324.
