Hi Tom HOS member in Norfolk and would like to visit Castle Hill but wondered if you would be possibly kind enough to let me know where to see/find these little beauties you photographed so well. Thanks Peter Colston

@GeoffDouglas13 Still have my memorable 2.5"Dolland and saw some of my top birds through it in the 1950s. No bother cycling as it just hung over your back.

I came across this photo from a time before we all had angled scopes and tripod. This was the norm way back, lying back and using a leg as a rest. Still have my old Dollond scope, but just as a fondly remembered keepsake

Found an Iceland Gull on the arm of Shoreham harbour late afternoon. Unfortunately looks like it's got on injured right wing (drooped while the left wasn't). Hopefully will rest up a few days and recover. Also a 'german looking' Caspian on the harbour. Purple Sand still too.

@DavidGandyBkk I discovered this tiny gem singing it's head off together with Per in June 1989 in Sichuan and we then went on to publish as new. A fiesty little singer if you encourage it to perform!!

In case you missed it, yesterday we announced our most recent human #reconstruction: a #BronzeAge man from Bray's Cave in #Gibraltar. He needs a name though and we are asking the public, to send in suggestions, a shortlist of which will go to a public vote. Send us names below!

@SimonDe57626653 Hi Simon. The only other option since the road was washed away a few years ago is to bike it, or go in this!

Enjoyed our first experience of walking to Spurn Point last week. Excellent views of a very obliging Lapland Bunting, also a Redstart, several Wheatears and a Wood Warbler at nearby Kilnsea Church.

After watching a Honey Buzzard we were taken to see a tree climbed by Bob Emmett when he was 73. This will only mean something to the oldies!
