I was a kid when playing on the estate where I lived was the norm. Summer was for riding my bike and playing in the garden. A trip to the seaside was like a big lottery win. I'd drink coke and eat crisps in the pub garden whilst my parents sometimes had a drink in a pub. Sunday lunchtime was when we all sat around the dining table. Saturdays meant a trip into town to do some shopping. Television was worth watching. There were very few cars parked in my street. Doctors would make house calls. No-one had a cheeseburger 🍔 delivered to their homes. Music 🎶 was great. I played football ⚽️ in the park with my brother. We didn't carry knives with us when we went to school. Fish and chips were affordable. Newspapers were worth reading. Cadbury's chocolate was delicious. Easter didn't offend people. Mail was delivered twice a day. We said please and thank you. CHAVS and hoodies didn't exist. Money went further. When it was hot outside it was because the sun was shining, and not global warming. We put all of our rubbish in one metal dustbin. Britain was British. I could go on, but I think you get what I'm trying to say...

I have accidentally watched 10 minutes of The Apprentice. There are so many competent, organised, eloquent 20 somethings out there. So how do the makers of this show manage to exclusively find narcissistic fuckwits with all the ability of a baking potato? It's terrible.

Firstly, I'm glad he was sent off as it made it a contest and I was worried it was going to be a life time win for them (5+-0). And I was petrified of this happening. After 2 minutes. It is a red by the laws of the game, probably. But he's got to the ball first and swung at the clearance. If Phillips stabs at it, Svante could come over the top and hurt him. In that scenario, you go full blooded and hit it hard to protect yourself. These tackles get made 15 times a game in the Central Midlands and don't get given as fouls. I love the In possession side of modern day football. With the increased carries, faster shorter passing, rotations etc. But I also think you should be able to throw yourself into a 50/50, get the ball first, and not get sent off. I expect a lot of disagreement here, but I have to be honest

Driving back from Southampton last night, I couldn’t help think back to the times my dad joined me on @footballheaven away trips, and I hugely regret not doing more while he was with us. This is Brighton in 2016. Happy birthday Dad, wish you were here to celebrate with us.
