NEWS: Humanoid robotics company Figure has released Helix 02, what they claim in their most capable humanoid model yet.
"A single neural system that controls the full body directly from pixels, enabling dexterous, long horizon autonomy across an entire room:
• Autonomous, long‑horizon loco-manipulation: Helix 02 unloads and reloads a dishwasher across a full-sized kitchen - a four-minute, end-to-end autonomous task that integrates walking, manipulation, and balance with no resets and no human intervention. We believe this is the longest horizon, most complex task completed autonomously by a humanoid robot to date.
• All sensors in. All actuators out: Helix 02 connects every onboard sensor - vision, touch, and proprioception - directly to every actuator through a single unified visuomotor neural network.
• Human-like whole body control from human data: All results are enabled by System 0, a learned whole‑body controller trained on over 1,000 hours of human motion data and sim‑to‑real reinforcement learning. System 0 replaces 109,504 lines of hand‑engineered C++ with a single neural prior for stable, natural motion.
• New classes of dexterity: With Figure 03’s embedded tactile sensing and palm cameras, Helix 02 performs manipulation that was previously out of reach: extracting individual pills, dispensing precise syringe volumes, and singulating small, irregular objects from clutter despite self‑occlusion.
Helix 02 is trained on over 1,000 hours of human motion data and integrates vision, touch, and proprioception."

Tesla officially has cars in Austin without anyone in them.
It’s time for the tsunami.

@mrgymcoachguy @farzyness How do you see that happen? X tells us that the checkmark gives a certain guarantee about the legitimacy of the poster, but that's not actually the case. That opens the door for imposters and scams, so the EU is asking for more transparency (or better checks).
English

The EU is closer to China than it is to America.
The EU hates individual freedom.
Why should US taxpayers continue to fund for their protection?

Today, we fined X for non-compliance with transparency obligations under the DSA. We're holding X accountable for: 🔹Deceptive design of its ‘blue checkmark’ 🔹Lack of transparency of its advertising repository 🔹Failure to provide access to public data for researchers ↓

@SawyerMerritt @farzyness It also grows cleaner over time since you can recycle the batteries almost completely into new batteries which makes the production cycle a lot cleaner. And cheaper. Circular economics are no brainers.
English

A new study has found that EVs offset their energy-intensive production and become cleaner than gas cars after just 3 years, according to Duke and Northern Arizona University.
Gas-powered vehicles were also found to cause at 2X as much environmental damage over their lifetimes as EVs, and said the benefits of EVs can be expected to increase in coming decades as clean sources of power, such as solar and wind, are brought onto the grid.
“While there is a bigger carbon footprint in the very short term because of the manufacturing process in creating the batteries for electric vehicles, very quickly you come out ahead in CO2 emissions by year three and then for all of the rest of the vehicle lifetime, you’re far ahead and so cumulatively much lower carbon footprint," said Drew Shindell, an earth science professor at Duke University and study co-author.
“Accelerating the adoption of battery electric vehicles is a key strategy for decarbonizing the transportation sector which will reduce future damages and costs of climate change.”

@SenhorLavei @FutureJurvetson @farzyness @elonmusk Obviously you have no experience in public transport in Europe. You’re addressing a specific USA problem.

@SawyerMerritt Big reason why: Ford's been running super good lease deals on F150 Lightnings (to their credit). Insanely good deal.

@dillonloomis I hope that the interview with Jon Stewart will be that sunshine.
English

I've made it abundantly clear I support Elon pursuing whatever he believes to be mission critical no matter the short term cost for Tesla. That said...
I would love to know what he really thinks about Tesla's sales and brand image right now. Is it a nothing burger in his mind or does he think he's making things a lot harder for some owners of Teslas and $TSLA and just accepts it because pushing back woke ideologies globally is so important
And not just a conference call answer like FSD is going to be the greatest asset value increase in history and/or how Optimus will be more valuable than everything else combined
I'd like to know his real unfiltered thoughts on this. On what's going on right now...not what Tesla has in the pipeline to hopefully patch it up
Because I agree in the end it will all work out, but on the way there I'd like to keep the Tesla team as large and strong as possible as we slog forward with this EV transition
You guys know I love DOGE and firmly believe America desperately needs this, but I often find myself wondering if there's a way for Elon to be effective with DOGE without being so...public about it. But then I remind myself sunlight is the best disinfectant and I am adamant about exposing the waste and corruption so the general public can wake up
I'm not personally worried about Tesla's brand long term and I will gladly continue to buy only Tesla vehicles without thinking twice, but I'll admit it's unfortunate seeing the hate directed at Tesla and watching people that used to support Tesla do a complete 180
