Yes, you can request to close the account or request a PAC by calling 4445 from an O2 phone or 0344 8090222 from an alternative phone. Our customer service team are available Monday - Friday 8am - 9pm, Saturday 8am - 8pm, and Sunday 8am - 6pm.
If you use a PAC to move your mum's mobile number to another network provider, this would automatically cancel the O2 account.

@O2 my housebound mum is unable to make or receive calls. When we try to log in to the account we get this message. Password reset email doesn’t arrive either. atrocious for someone who relies on the phone for medical and emergency use!! How do we cancel and get a payg refund?

@pippygro We can help with this. Please DM us your mum's mobile number. Alternatively, you can obtain a PAC to move the mobile number to another network provider by texting "PAC" to 65075. A refund can be requested once the O2 account has been closed. twitter.com/messages/compo…

@lucyfishwife I’m not sure! I have to get off a train going to Waterloo at clapham junction where my ticket is to, to touch in, and then get back on another train and go to Waterloo because if I touch out without touching in, I now won’t be able to register the incomplete journey 🤬

@McDonaldsUK I finally got the chat to work - seems you have to click ‘return’ not the blue ‘done’ button to submit your reply. In any case the virtual assistant didn’t understand my isdue so it’s now being reviewed by a human hopefully.

@McDonaldsUK Hi, i’m trying to get a refund on an order that your app sent to the wrong restaurant (the restaurant is in my favourites so I know I selected the right one) but the virtual assistant isn’t working and won’t submit my request. Please help!!!
