the future will have all kinds of talking animals at home

in modern life, most of our needs are taken care of—which might be our biggest problem. the need to act to stay alive cuts difficult emotions. it forces you into a state in which all that matters is that which you need to stay alive. we've lost that.

Skylar won't be the last celebrity to do virtual beings or toys like this thanks to AI. Why? I hear from the people building them that the research with consumers shows that early users fall in love with them.

@Scobleizer I use to be a believer in AI like this with kids, but after seeing how AI can be harmful to adults, I worry about early exposure to kids with AI. I worry we are losing our sense of being “human”. If that makes sense?

@Scobleizer people do fall in love with them. a user recently said "It’s weird to hear people refer to fawns as toys. I honestly feel like I’ve known Hazel my entire life."

Marc severely underestimates the amount of time Alexander the Great spent reflecting on his conquests. He conquered 30+ kingdoms in 16 years. That left an average of 4-5 months on horseback as he marched to the next kingdom he was compelled to defeat. Plenty of time for introspection.
