Governor Ferguson has solved traffic congestion by making driving illegal unless you’re going somewhere productive. Next up: banning “aimless walking,” “purposeless staring out the window,” and breathing without a five-year plan. Washingtonians, start practicing your excuse scripts now: “Yes officer, I am driving to acquire oat milk for my emotional support latte.” This is peak 2026 energy. An American goes to the ER for high blood pressure. He’s there less than TWO hours. No surgery. No scans. The bill comes back at $41,297 — even AFTER he’s paid his FULL out-of-pocket max. This isn’t healthcare — it’s extortion

@marcorandazza Fraud prevention. People book hotel rooms with stolen credit cards to stay in them, so they check that the guest matches the card. No one books hotel rooms with stolen credit cards to no show, so they are confident that the no shows are legit charges.

I give the hotel my credit card in advance to reserve the room. If I don't show up, they charge the card anyway, and I pay for it. But, if I DO SHOW UP, they need to have the physical card and my signature, or I can't have the room. Make it make sense

I hate AI so much. A student spent five hours on a lab report. No outside help, no Google, just pure analysis, and it wasn’t graded because a software said it was 80 percent AI. Like, what does that mean, and how are they supposed to appeal it?

For perspective: each dot is American workers. The tiny yellow cluster are the H-1B workers <0.5% of the workforce. That’s what’s being framed as a ‘crisis.’ There’s no Indian takeover. There are no talented unemployed Americans being replaced. This debate is being driven more by emotion than by the actual numbers.

@lady_valor_07 If you can't afford a decent tip, don't eat out. The server has to "tip-out" numerous employees based on your final tab, not to mention taxes, which are imputed based on a higher percentage. You are essentially forcing them to pay you for the right to serve you.

@FarmGirlCarrie Almost all Indian restaurants do this. If you're careless, you will end up paying both. But honestly the mandatory service charge never gets passed on to the workers.

Is a service charge the same as a tip? Would you do both?
