@TJWalkerRadio I’m sick and tired of comparing my coach to anyone. This is UK. Other schools are supposed to compare themselves to us and it’s not happening. It’s maddening and honestly pissing me off that more is not being done to correct it behind the scenes.

When both programs hired new coaches a couple years ago it was obvious Pat Kelsey and Mark Pope would not only be judged by their own program standards and expectations, but also compared directly to one another. Almost immediately both fan bases felt pretty good about their hires- year one for both coaches brought fun moments and a decent launching point, even if neither season ultimately met program expectations. Both coaches then went to work on upgrading their rosters for year two. Pat Kelsey showed he could land five-star talent and make real splashes in the portal, while Pope appeared to put together one of the deeper teams in college basketball. But neither second season met expectations (for a variety of reasons). In fact, both were a bit of a step back from year one, which I don’t think many people expected. Now, heading into a make-or-break year three for both coaches and both programs the contrast is becoming glaring. One coach continues to underwhelm while turning a proud program into something of a punchline behind the scenes. The other attacked the portal like his job depended on it and made it clear his only goal was to build the most talented roster possible. UK fans have spent so much time comparing Pope to Cal, but Pope is getting outworked by more than just Arkansas. I'm not sure there's a rival where UK is currently in a better position. Louisville fans are excited about the upcoming season. Kentucky fans are stuck in a near-constant state of frustration and meltdown. Pat Kelsey was ready for the portal and the year three offseason. Mark Pope wasn't, and that's a major issue for Kentucky.

Croatian F/C Michael Ružić has been receiving interest from Kentucky, per reports. But it sounds like BYU is leading to land the 7’ Big Man. LSU, Arizona State also mentioned to me. “BYU has been in on him since last year” Will be tough for Coach Pope to out-pitch some of these programs offering starting spots/Money. ACB Stats: • 5.1p, 3.4r, 16mpg. BCL Stats: 7.4p, 3.6r, 18mpg. International Scout on him: “I mean Ružić is one of the better available pickups right now. Playing some of the highest level of competition in the world and showing flashes especially as of late. Has been an NBA Prospect since he was 18. 7 footer with a jumper and great mobility, you can play him as a backup 5, or as a starting 4. @LegacyBlue_UK They’re not desperate for stories. He’s always had a pretty good feel for the fanbase and his read is still accurate. UK is making massive mistakes when it comes to basketball and the AD and Presidents positions. And honestly I’m tired of seeing people that act or say otherwise.

KSR seems desperate for stories, maybe that's why they pump out negative bs all the time.

I am so disappointed at the uk fanbase. I have been a diehard since the 80’s. Regardless who is on the team, you support them. Regardless who is your coaching staff, you support them. It’s sickening how far this fanbase has fallen in 40 years. NOT THE PROGRAM. THE FANBASE.

Today’s raids by state and federal law enforcement happened because our state agencies caught irregular behavior and reported it. That’s how the system is supposed to work, and our agencies will keep at it as long as there are fraudsters around to put behind bars.

If you commit fraud in Minnesota you’re going to get caught — and that’s exactly what we saw today. We catch criminals when state and federal agencies share information. Joint investigations work, and securing justice depends on it.
