@SamCFC_footy The blind leading the blind who think running a successful football club is simply crunching numbers and analyzing data! No wonder they’re failing BIG TIME!bet they don’t even know that English football and American football has a different type of ball lol!

"what style they want to go for" so basically they made a squad that can't run much and is suited to slow possession based football, saw it get proven under maresca who became the only manager under Clearlake to deliver trophies, get top 4 and bring stability, yet now they are thinking about which style of coach would them. Wow. As if the answer is not right in front of them Also, if they are willing to change styles, they'd have to sell a lot of players from the squad and bring another new batch. Are they willing to overhaul the squad again after pitching long term project to all the players they bought?
Max@MaxFSport

🔵 Chelsea’s sporting directors are currently discussing what style of play they want to go for and stick to as part of their self reflection. Sources say Chelsea want a stability builder, a coach who won’t put Chelsea under any short term threat of another change.

@MobyChe No boss certainly a director will accept their incompetence in hiring incompetent people! Real reason behind Eggball’s persistence in keeping their operating model. All about egos and faces!! So forget it and enjoy the shitshow and rinse and repeat strategy! Let’s see how far…

Chelsea owners still believe Chelsea can make it to the Champions League! The Chelsea owners are still confident that the club can secure a Champions League spot this season. We’re around seventh with four games left, it’s tight, but still possible. A couple of wins and results going our way could get us into the top five. We’ve shown fight before, and we can do it again. Champions League football isn’t just prestige, it’s about financial survival right now. We posted a record £262 million pre-tax loss last year. Without the extra £80-100 million from Champions League TV money, prize funds, and commercial deals, we’ll be in serious trouble with PSR and UEFA’s strict new loss limits. Missing out would also hurt our ability to attract elite players and scare off big sponsors who only want Champions League clubs. It’s make-or-break. Insiders say the owners have finally learned their lessons. They’re listening more, blaming sporting directors for mistakes like certain managerial appointments, and ready to take the club forward properly. This feels like a turning point. As Chelsea fans, let’s keep the faith but stay sharp. We’ll watch every move they make until next season. If they back their words with actions, we’ll be back where we belong. Up the Blues! 💙 Let’s get it done!

@SamCFC_footy Most importantly he has the passion being a former player and a club legend. That alone is priceless! As the current structure of the club is challenging to any coach, he hasn’t reached the top yet so his ego won’t be as inflated as other top names. easier for both parties

Please, make it happen. I won't care if we miss out on Xavi, Alonso and Nagelsmann because I don't think they are realistic. They won't join us. They are big names and have experience of coaching at the top level. Fabregas is the only suitor given he doesn't have experience of coaching at the top level as much but he is a big name and knows the PL. He might take the job. Even if he has shares at Como, doesn't mean he'll stay there forever.
Chelsea Dodgers@TheBlueDodger

🚨 EXCL: Como would not stand in the way of Cesc Fabregas leaving should the club’s manager be lured to the Premier League by Chelsea, their president has said. (@MattHardyJourno & @CityAM) #CFC

@SamCFC_footy As I can sense it, Eggball is an egocentric boss. He’s gonna make sure the next head coach won’t give him headaches and only does what the dof’s want him to do. They will never hire someone as smart as Cesc or Xavi or Nagelsman! Just my gut feel, but Tuchel was a prime example

I really like him and I have always said how much I want him here to manage Chelsea in the future. Because right now I do feel he still needs to be at Como for at least another season before he takes the next step But my fear is, what if someone else beats us to him. Arsenal might sack Arteta if they go trophyless. Barca can sign him as well after flick. The only thing worrying me is if someone beats us to him and then he never leaves that club for 10 years. I certainly believe whichever big club he goes to, he'll create a dynasty there that would last for 7-8 years minimum. He certainly doesn't tick the "experience of managing at the top level" box but he's definitely someone who'll command respect just by his name and will be an instant connection with the fans. Plus he knows what it takes to be Chels and he knows the PL. He'll bring that Chels feeling back that has been lost now under this ownership. Iraolas and silvas won't work because they won't command respect even though they have coached in the PL.
Max@MaxFSport

I’ve been really missing that “Chels” feeling since this ownership took over. The one manager that started to rebuild that feeling with his charisma was Maresca, and Chelsea fell out with him. Potter didn’t, Pochettino certainly didn’t, Rosenior didn’t. I don’t think the ownership either understand or care what Chelsea fans want in a relationship with a manager. The ones who have succeeded heavily have always had a special fan relationship. Disappointed to already see reports play down Fabregas. I am sure he is happy at Como, but I refuse to believe his head could not be turned with enough persistence.

Rosenior has learn to be more resilient if he ever gets another top top job. The bubble of being in France skewed what he thought it was like at a big club. This has been a big learning curve for him

🚨 Sources told say that Liam Rosenior was so hurt by some of the criticism that he privately challenged his detractors, with one admitting to being surprised that the Chelsea coach was allowing himself to be distracted by the noise. #CFC [@MarkOgden_]

📣 In my review of The Athletic’s piece I flagged a paragraph that has been largely ignored since publication. I have attached the screenshot so you can read it for yourself. The Athletic confirmed that Clearlake Opportunities Partners III (“COP III”), the Clearlake fund that led the Chelsea investment, is a private credit rather than equity fund, and that according to documents filed by the Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System (“PSERS”), which has invested in COP III, it aims to provide returns by investing in non-control special situations investments. The Athletic also noted that COP III raised £2.2bn in total, which means there’s only £400m left to cover future losses. Private equity vs private credit A private equity fund buys ownership stakes. Investors share in any upside and only get paid if there is a profit. A private credit fund lends money at a contractual rate of return with a fixed repayment date. Its investors are creditors. Interest accrues whether the borrower is profitable or not, because it is a legal obligation, not a discretionary distribution. The structure implied by COP III being private credit There is already a private credit loan inside this structure. Ares Management lent money to 22 Holdco on a payment-in-kind basis, meaning interest compounds onto the loan balance each year rather than being paid in cash. Ares Sports, Media and Entertainment Finance, the fund that provided this loan, is a mezzanine fund, which is private credit. COP III is the same type of fund, and the implication is that Blues Investment Midco, the vehicle holding Clearlake’s 61.85% stake in 22 Holdco, is itself funded by a borrowing with the same economics. If that capital is earning the same minimum rate as the Ares loan, the estimated balance owed to COP III investors at June 2025 is approximately £2.4bn, with approximately £600m of accrued interest appearing in no UK filed account because Blues Investment Midco is a Cayman entity with no UK filing obligation. Adding the £794m Bank of America and JPM/BofA facility and the £609m Ares PIK balance already confirmed in the accounts, the true debt in this structure is approximately £3.1bn against £1.1bn of verified long-term equity from the Boehly group, a debt to equity ratio of roughly 3:1. Who is actually in control? The PSERS mandate said non-control. Yet Eghbali has been running Chelsea day-to-day since January 2023, after Boehly stepped back as interim sporting director. The Athletic confirmed in September 2024 that Clearlake is in primary control at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea lost £653m in its first fourteen months under this ownership. If the borrowing behind Blues Investment Midco carries covenants, as any loan would, that scale of loss is precisely the kind of event that triggers a breach and gives a lender the right to assume operational control. The most coherent explanation of what happened in January 2023 is that Clearlake effectively foreclosed on Boehly. This is more debt than we thought! The only verified long-term equity in this structure is the Boehly group’s £1.1bn. Everything above it in the Clearlake layer has the characteristics of a loan, not ownership. For a business with stable cash flows, 3:1 debt to equity is manageable. For a football club losing £500m+ per year in cash, with no path to profitability visible in the accounts, and where the £1.1bn equity cushion is being eroded by losses every year, it is arguably unsustainable. The equity base is shrinking while the debt is growing through PIK compounding.

A notable line in the Liam Rosenior farewell message on the club website mentioned “self-reflection.” If, after all that reflection, they end up appointing someone like Iraola, Silva, Howe, or a similar profile, then honestly, you couldn’t blame any player for wanting to leave. If those in charge, so heavily driven by data, fail to recognize that Chelsea aren’t the league’s strongest running side, that the players responded best to a possession based coach in training, and that the team’s most successful period also came under that style, then the logical step would be to appoint another possession oriented manager, someone with authority and respect. If they can’t grasp something that fundamental, then no matter how many managers they cycle through, they’re unlikely to get it right.

Eghbali fires every member of the sporting director team. Comes out in public and admits he gets it wrong and that we’re changing plan. Hires an established sporting director and BE gives up his control over football matters. We hire a proven manager. Sign proven players. The only way I can see Chelsea surviving. Unfortunately never gonna happen.
