Who said acknowledging your natal sex is with the intention of being positive??? I know for me it’s either neutral or negative just because some trans people don’t get dysphoric over things that others do doesn’t make them less trans it just means their experience is different
bean@rep_princess

@plutostraz @karnivor9 well trans people usually dont proudly talk openly about their natal sex as a positive like the art is about and aren’t dressing/presenting in as deliberately confirming to societal norms of their natal sex one of my best friends is a emo trans guy who likes mcr & he isnt like op

@osecourrrr @mayashagasse I didn’t start acknowledging that until about 7 years into my transition so idk if it’s just something that comes with time but for me I am a trans man not just a man and for me that’s how I identify

@osecourrrr @mayashagasse If I go to any of my women friends and we start talking about how we grew up it will be almost identical. The point of mentioning socialisation (for me anyway) is in a negative context and how it affected me

At this point it's just comically stupid 😭
Uhhhhhhh@plutostraz

@karnivor9 I also don’t understand the issue with a trans man talking about their experience being socialised as a women like obviously if someone is using terminology to someone else they don’t like that’s shitty but what’s the issues with people calling themselves afab/amab???

But like I’ve said before for myself I find it important to acknowledge my experience pre transition and how those gender norms that were nailed into me effect me today idk I just don’t think we should shame or make assumptions about other trans guys who’s experience is different

and ngl that’s what helped me with my dysphoria realising that how others see me isn’t who I am and as long as my friends, coworkers, family ect see me as the man I am that’s all I care about-

Got blocked so can’t directly reply sorry anyway for me it’s something that came with time my first 5-7yrs of being out everything made me dysphoric I was genuinely miserable attempting to be stealth. I think I’m just so used to not being seen as who I am that I don’t care-
bean@rep_princess

@plutostraz @karnivor9 trying to ask in good faith btw but yeah why would you make your own dysphoria worse for yourself by clinging to it?

@rep_princess @karnivor9 because I know im not a women. I identify as a trans man not just man because how I grew up for me was a huge part of who I am today. I also still have a uterus and don’t pass so I’m not just going to stop experiencing misogyny because I’m a trans man

@plutostraz @karnivor9 isn’t it incredibly dysphoric and painful to continue to link yourself so heavily to that and being socialised as female etc and so heavily acknowledge being born female as a man tho? even if like you say u struggle with passing, why would you not yk want to be distanced from it?

@karnivor9 Being able to identify with how you grew up/how you were socialised pre transition isn’t identifying as your “assigned sex” not everyone disowns their life pre transition and that’s okay just like how it’s okay to be uncomfortable with the opposite

@plutostraz Because if you identify with your assigned sex at birth so much that you need to tell everyone that you were born female, you’re not really trans… trans people don’t identify with their agab thats like the whole point

@rep_princess @karnivor9 Okay but that’s you and people should respect that but for me my experience being socialised as a “female” (especially as an autistic person) greatly effects me today (and the misogyny I have and still do experience “)

@plutostraz @karnivor9 plus just it’s ridiculous, most dysphoric people don’t want to be associated at all to our natal sex, i was born and grew up a large part male and it makes me suicidal to be reminded of it & wanna claw my skin off if someone is attached to their natal sex they likely arent trans

@rep_princess @karnivor9 But how are you going to determine who is a trans person who doesn’t pass vs someone who doesn’t conform to gender norms? I know for myself most people would make the assumption that I’m the latter because I have big hips, and a chest that doesn’t look binded even when it is

@plutostraz @karnivor9 it’s making fun of ‘trans men’ who don’t bind or go on T or want or try to pass as men but still call themselves trans men despite obviously wanting to be female he’s obviously not making fun of trans men who struggle to pass but want to & try to

@karnivor9 If someone says they are trans then they are not cis you literally drew a trans flag on said persons t shirt

@plutostraz That’s a cįs woman not an ftm caricature. You can’t convince me that it’s transphobic to make fun of cissexual transphobes

@karnivor9 I’ve been out for 11 yrs and unironically look close to this despite having been on T for several years. I have a G cup chest that I bind everyday but it just makes them look like double D’s instead idk I think poking fun at other trans men who may not pass as well is shitty

@karnivor9 I mean it’s not just feeling called out it’s also the fact that certain features on the “ftm caricature” are blatantly things out of said persons control example: scars, and a big chest ect it’s the same as making fun of a trans women for having a big Adam’s apple or being tall

@kweercam34 @caramelizard It would not have helped. Height is 100% genetic like there are countries where 5’1 is the average male height for that reason

Said it many times, I'll say it again. The influx of young. vapid, super fit, body image obcessed furries the last 3 or 4 years is a bad omen for body acceptance in this community. People gotta get ahead of it and work to shut this shit down, or the fandom will come to regret it.

@AeroGlass10 @AdagusTheGoat It is if you have: Pcos, hashimotos, pws, some T1D that need constant glucose ect also most fat people come from poverty where the only affordable food is high calorie food that’s low volume (not gonna stop hunger pain) if you can’t understand this then you are privileged

@txrixie Have you had your thyroid checked? I have the exact same body type as you (boobs and everything it actually feels like looking into a mirror) but I’m diagnosed with hashimotos and I’ve heard that this body type is common among those with it
