A quick recap of 2024 and what you can look forward to on @lofty_ai in 2025. 2024: - Launched our custom PMM for instant liquidity for individual properties. (Our sellers have been loving this so far and many of the pools were set up and seeded by our users!) - The launch of the PMMs also brought a new way to earn on the platform that's friendly for both crypto natives and those with no prior crypto experience at all in the form of staking. - A whole batch of quality of life updates for the staking portal, account dashboard, list view on the exchange for power users, and dark mode. - New general features like property and property manager reviews on the platform. - (Just launched yesterday!) Our new onboarding experience. For most US users, your onboarding, including KYC will take a fraction of the time. Just enter your mobile number and most, if not all, of your information will be pre-filled for you. Just confirm the details and you're good to go! For those that want to refer friends and family to Lofty, this is the perfect time for them to try out the new signup flow. - We had originally planned to end the year with all properties with market orders enabled, but sadly we fell short of this. But we'll probably see this completed by early 2025. - We are ending the year with our monthly trading volume roughly up 3x YoY. - You can now purchase real estate with $USDC from ERC-20 chains and with any token on an ERC-20 chain. Yes, you can use $DOGE and other meme coins to buy real estate thanks to our partner over at @suave_money_ . Just click the "any crypto" option during checkout. Try it out and let us know what you think! 2025 roadmap: - Loans/leverage to purchase tokens! We're in discussions with a few debt providers right now. We'll be able to launch a pilot as early as in Q1 of 2025. This will finally bring feature parity between Lofty and the traditional way of investing in real estate on your own. You'll be able to take out a loan to purchase properties on the platform, just like taking out a mortgage to acquire a property the traditional way. Unlike most DeFi and blockchain based loans, this won't be an over-collateralized loan. Instead, you'll be able to put down 20% and borrow the remaining 80% just like a traditional mortgage. Underwriting will be 10x faster and more efficient. If someone cannot pay back their loan, their property holdings are automatically liquidated on the exchange through market orders via the PMM and the funds will be sent back to the lender to recover their principal automatically. This level of efficiency simply can't be achieved through the traditional real estate debt market (think how much work it is to foreclose on a property and then auction it off to recover your principal). The result should be lower risk for the lenders, meaning better risk-adjusted rates. We want to pass this off to our users, so they can consistently acquire loans at better rates on platform vs off-platform. - We've pushed this back 2 years in a row now, but this will finally be done in 2025. Governance 2.0 will roll out, which will put the power of governance truly in our users' hands. Lofty will mostly be removed as an intermediary from the process. We've seen incredibly creative structures proposed by owners through governance and we hope governance 2.0 will super charge this and lead to even more creative things from our users. For everyone that's continued to support us, thank you! 2024 has been the best year for Lofty and I have a feeling 2025 is going to be even better. So much of the core infrastructure pillars are set up and have been stress tested. It's finally time to accelerate adoption. Happy new year everyone!

Just had a conversation with my friend who is a MD about this. He told me that during his residency, a lot prisoners would injure themselves on purpose, so they get a field trip outside the prison for a few days. The hospital then has to provide them free care, free food, and they just chill in bed watching TV. Before he would need to treat them, he would read about what they were convicted of and that would include some horrific crimes. Then he has to go in and be polite and provide the best care possible knowing what he knew, because apparently the prisoners are one of the most litigious populations… Did make me think, knowing that some portion of my taxes go towards that while the same spot in the road near my house has been leaking water from the ground up and the government is incapable of fixing it after 2 years (3 attempts)…

Many liberals just don’t know the gritty details of what they’re talking about. I was a soft-on-crime guy when I was picturing a starving orphan stealing bread. When I learned that death-row criminals are mostly guilty of things like “raped a 72 year old woman to death” I stopped caring about their rights or feelings.

Two super quick UI updates on @lofty_ai 1. We've consistently see users with log in errors, where they forget they signed up with google auth versus using email + password option. Then they try to log in using email + password, but it obviously errors out, which then prompts them to click "forget password", which then obviously fails, because they never signed up using their email address... Well, now if you allow cookies in your browser for Lofty, you'll receive a helpful "last used" message for the log in method you previously used. Hoping this cuts down on the user frustration here! 2. We've always had inconsistent UI components in the app to prioritize speed of shipping, but that's not a trade off we need to make anymore in the age of AI, so the error message components all have a fresh look that's in line with our style guide now and supports both light and dark mode.

This update went out recently too on @lofty_ai ! Property performance and sentiment around sellers change over time as more data is available. The reviews should be able to reflect that change, so buyers are always updated on the platform too.

@Austen Wasn’t there a recent report that showed you could just start off with a base frontier model, then do your own RL with unique data on top and it’ll end up becoming better? I think it was another YC company. If this is true, then Cursor has a pretty good chance here.

I’m sure Cursor _wants_ its own coding model, but to come from behind and beat OpenAI and Anthropic you’ve got to overcome a 5-10 year deficit against companies that have raised $50 Billion+ more than you and are swallowing everyone’s data. I admire the ambition but tall order.

@xLiMoNaDe_ What aspect was a pain? Just the deposit feature or KYC? If you pass KYC actually investing in something should have always been very quick and easy, especially if you use a credit card.
