Sometimes it's the people who no one imagines anything of, that do the things no one can imagine.

Germany 🇩🇪:
A 20-year-old German girl has been sent to prison for “hateful comments” against 9 immigrants convicted of gang-raping a 14-year-old German girl. Her crime? Calling them “pigs, rapists, without honor.”
Even though semen from all 9 was found on the child, only 1 of the rapists ended up in prison.
The story ends with the girl who wrote against the rapists receiving a harsher punishment than the rapists themselves.

@danobrien20 As a business owner for over 25 years. The greatest problem I see with politicians and with the public sector in general is they are never proactive, it's always reactive. That's why there is so little change. It's never real leadership.

Ireland's personal taxation regime is the second worst among 38 peer countries according to the Tax Foundation. High marginal taxes (paid at very modest thresholds) have been in place since 2008. There has been almost no improvement over two decades despite having the resources to do so - a relentless rise in government expenditure has been prioritised year after year.
A simple example illustrates how bad it is. The average electrician or plumber working for construction company will be on the top marginal rate, whereby the state takes more of every additional euro than the person gets to keep. If he/she wants to earn self employed income, the government will take more than the worker, and a tax return will have to be filed, involving time and/or accountancy fees.
Is it any wonder finding tradespeople is hard?

I don’t know Tiger Woods any better than any of you, but I do know addiction is a subtle and insidious foe.
Beating it is a very, very difficult task to begin with, but being an addict with a bunch of injuries that create a valid medical reason to take narcotics is a scenario built for chronic relapse
Some people will see this as a PR move, and others will see this as a legal strategy. I understand why, and only time will tell what is driving this.
Personally, I saw a guy in those pictures who looked much more like a sick person who needs to get well than a bad person who needs to figure out how to act good.
I don’t really care what the motive is for getting Tiger into the door for treatment. Once he’s there he’s got a shot to get clean.
Whatever you think of Tiger’s missteps, at the peak of his powers he was capable of things that brought a lot of people joy. I hope that his story ends joyfully, and that he finds some inner peace. Being stuck in that cycle is no way for any person to live.
