I finally did it. I got tired of the "Pool Store" routine—lugging water samples, being sold $200 in chemicals I didn't need, and still having cloudy water. So I built my own solution: Pool Balance. 🏊‍♂️🧪 It's officially LIVE on the App Store today! apps.apple.com/us/app/pool-ba…

@AmericaSPoolCo Pool season tip for anyone opening this week: balance alkalinity first (80-120 ppm) before touching pH. Once alk is stable, bring pH to 7.4-7.6, then shock at dusk. That order cuts days off your opening and saves product. Happy Cinco de Mayo!

@pro_pool7665 And when the chemistry is dialed in — pH 7.4-7.6, alk balanced, chlorine holding — that water feels completely different. No sting, no cloudiness, just clean. The chemistry is what makes the dive actually feel like a reward.

@LJPoolReno CPO certification is underrated in this industry. Knowing the chemistry behind why you add what you add — not just following a recipe — is what separates the techs who fix problems from the ones who chase them.

@TurtlePoolzZ 1/4 inch per day is the FL benchmark — more than that points to a leak. Chemistry side too: every gallon lost takes balanced water with it. Refill water needs re-treating from scratch. Ghost leaks are a double hit to the wallet.

@poolprosglobal Key thing people miss: saltwater pools still use chlorine — just generated on-site. Still need to balance pH, alkalinity, and CYA. The "gentler" experience comes from consistent low levels, not from the absence of chlorine. Great point to clarify for homeowners.

@Crownehillpools So important and so often overlooked. Crystal clear water can still have pH crashing, chlorine locked out, or alkalinity way off. The water doesn't lie — but it also doesn't always tell the whole story at a glance. Test kits don't lie.

@poolprosglobal Reviews are everything in the trades. Pool owners ask friends and neighbors before they Google — getting those documented wins visible online is what turns one happy customer into three new ones.

@poolprosglobal Huge point — and the savings compound because VS pumps also run at lower RPM during off-peak hours, which means better filtration time AND quieter operation. Pool chemistry also stays more consistent when circulation is steady 24/7 rather than intermittent bursts. Win all around.

@poolprosglobal Spot on — and alkalinity in the 80-120 ppm range is what keeps that pH stable. Test TA first, fix it, then pH holds itself. Makes the sweet spot a lot easier to maintain.

@lindx_sol At least your pool chemistry can't blame the weather 😂 Cloudy water inside = usually pH or alkalinity off. Cloudy sky outside = not your problem!

Opening your pool this season? Test alkalinity FIRST (80-120 ppm), then pH (7.4-7.6), then shock. Most people skip TA and wonder why their pH won't hold 🪣 More tips on our TikTok & Instagram ⬇️ poolbalance.app #poolseason #poolcare

@poolprosglobal Spot on — pH is the foundation everything else builds on. Chlorine loses ~80% effectiveness at pH 7.8+, so holding that 7.2–7.6 window is everything. Great advice for pool owners!

@Jessica43908127 @bitchybybravo When that chlorine arrives — shock it at dusk (sunlight burns chlorine fast). Green = algae, so you may need 2-3x the normal dose. Run pump 24/7 and brush the walls first to break up algae. It'll clear up!

@DatCracca Ha! Fair point — CPO knows their stuff. Respect the credential. The pool world needs more people with that level of knowledge. Keep spreading the right info!

@DatCracca Yep — pH above 7.8 makes chlorine almost useless AND irritates eyes/skin. Target 7.4-7.6. Check alkalinity first though (aim 80-120 ppm) — it's the buffer that keeps pH stable. Fix TA → then pH → then shock. Pool Balance app calculates exact amounts free 💧

Most "chlorine problems" are actually pH problems 🧪 pH above 7.8 = chlorine loses ~90% effectiveness even if it "tests fine" Correct order: alkalinity (80-120 ppm) → pH (7.4-7.6) → shock More tips on our TikTok & Instagram 👇 poolbalance.app #poolcare

@DoneBeingAfraid @UltraMagaGirl @CoachSchardein @NatCon2022 You are correct. But we arent talking about remarciting a pool, were talking about epoxy painting it. My experience has been that to qualify for the warranty you have to keep the pH low, the alkalinity high which is contrary to the rules of chemistry since alk and pH are related.

Obama admin spent $34 mil and 18 months on a FAILED attempt to stop the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool from leaking. Biden proposed $301 mil and 3 years for repairs. Trump admin is adding an industrial swimming pools coating for $2 mil. Imagine being angry. 😒

Pool myth: "Chlorine makes your eyes burn." Wrong. It's chloramines — chlorine bonded with sweat & organics. That strong pool smell? Also chloramines, not clean chlorine. Fix: Shock the pool. Test first, shock right. poolbalance.app 💧 #poolcare #poolchemistry

@poolprosglobal 100% 🌿 And skimming before adding chemicals helps them distribute more evenly too. Less organic load = more effective chlorine. Pair daily maintenance with weekly chemistry testing and you'll rarely have a problem 💧 poolbalance.app

@Home_In_Depth Great advice 👏 Also check pH before shocking — chlorine loses most of its effectiveness above 7.8 pH. Fix pH first, then use your extra shock dose. poolbalance.app calculates the exact amount based on your pool size + test readings 💧

1/5 Green pool? Don't drain it. You need 2-4x more shock than normal - most people use the standard dose and wonder why it's still green 3 days later. 🟢
