The most recent genuinely vicious counter trend rally I recall was March 2022, SPX broke the YTD downtrend that had formed, reclaimed the 200 day moving average and then kept going for another week. Genuinely seemed like we had torn down the rate hike wall of worry.

Correct the chart is misleading. You see a spike in the ratio at the top of 2022, it’s just the magnitude gets much larger at the bottom.
Currently the spike gets immediately huge in a short period.
The chart simply points out the spike happens at the bottoms not top. But we haven’t sold off to be a bottom. It objectively CANNOT be a bottom.
