Not so many years ago my Yorkshire market town had 4 banks, Nat West, Lloyds, Barclays and HSBC. Today we learn the last bank standing, @HSBC is to close on 5th September. It’s now a 20 mile drive to their nearest branch, with no public transport link Pre Tax profits £16.9bn!
