AI is not art. AI fills artistic gaps. Mastering the skill of correct prompts isn’t art in itself imo. Art has been doing absolutely fine without AI, it’s best we let it be like that. All of this aside moral and ritual issues exist with generative AI

Generative AI doesn’t belong to art. It is reductive to art. Not letting it leach into art forms of any kinda is the best thing we can do.

@ImSentencer @PMitesh A prompt describes it doesn’t create the artwork. With Photoshop or a camera, the artist makes the creative decisions. A prompt is a specification, not the artwork itself. That's fundamentally different from a cinematographer or designer executing those decisions themselves.

It could be used if you are making a low budget film. So you might have time and budget constraints. But a big production company choosing to use AI instead of paying real ppl money to make a quality art says a lot about the respect they have towards the art of filmmaking and the audience

I’m sorry that happened to you and your team. I know it’s not easy in this economy. It’s sad how quickly AI is taking over and there’s no plausible way to truly fight it. I feel like atleast in the entertainment industry, if AI keeps getting integrated more often, there might be another writers strike, which would hopefully lead to some kind of regulation if the general audience also stand by the writers. But maybe I’m dreaming too much

No it literally won’t. A24 just recently got sent to the shadow realm because of their deal with Google for using AI in their production. A24 lost a lot of goodwill that it built with its audience. The only ppl who support AI are ppl who do not value art or right wingers. You are quite literally advocating for so many ppl losing their jobs so some AI can make “art” by copying real art made by real human beings. It might be cost effective and convienient but i guarantee you most ppl, at least in America, will not suport any movie that uses AI
