🇨🇴 A New York rabbi was found dismembered and stuffed inside a closet after being murdered by a Colombian gang
The body of 51-year-old Rabbi Nuchem Yisrael Eber, a Brooklyn resident and member of the Belz Hasidic community in Borough Park, was discovered inside a blood-stained abandoned wardrobe on a street in Bogotá, Colombia.
Rabbi Eber, a father of four, had traveled to Colombia in April to teach and advise a group of Catholics who had converted to Judaism. He was last seen on CCTV leaving his Airbnb.
Locals alerted police after spotting the blood-stained blue wardrobe on Sunday, April 26. Inside, authorities found his mutilated remains.
Preliminary investigations suggest he was targeted by a criminal gang known for robbing tourists. While robbery appears to be the main motive, authorities have not ruled out other possibilities, including terrorism.
