Belgium’s long-delayed Gare de Mons has finally opened after nearly two decades of design and construction. Designed by Santiago Calatrava, the station was conceived as a monumental bridge linking Mons’ historic center with the city’s newer southern districts, with the architect first winning the commission back in 2006. With its white structural ribs, sweeping curves, and glass-covered spine, the station is unmistakably Calatrava. The project became almost as well known for its long delays as for its design, but it now stands as one of Belgium’s most dramatic recent transport buildings. 📷 Santiago Calatrava LLC / Oliver Schuh

🇮🇷🇮🇱🇺🇸 Iran’s Brig. Gen. Abolfazl Shekarchi says Israel has suffered 1,321 casualties since day one of the war. He also claims U.S. forces have taken 600–800 dead and nearly 5,000 wounded. He says it would take the U.S. 5 years to recover to pre-war levels. Meaning, in his words, the U.S. no longer has the capacity to face Iran’s power. Disclaimer: I would take everything he says with a massive grain of salt. Iran takes war propaganda to another level Source: Press TV
