Critical undersea infrastructure carries the vast majority of global telecommunications traffic and supports trillions in daily financial transactions. Yet undersea cables remain vulnerable, while monitoring, repair capabilities and legal protections often lag behind emerging threats. At the roundtable "Securing the Depths: Protecting Critical Undersea Infrastructure", organised by @kaseurope and @natopa, experts discussed how parliamentarians can help strengthen the resilience and protection of this vital infrastructure.

At the meeting in Istanbul ahead of the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Allied parliamentary leaders pledged to mobilise parliaments across the Alliance to provide the political support and resources needed to deter and defend against any threat.
