@CondorInCrisis @speakoutsister There a particular way British transphobes talk that sounds absolutely fucking insane to normal people, but they don’t see it because they live in a media bubble like MAGA.

Yes, because if you want to get into a woman's toilet, you'd definitely undergo a formal process of gender reassignment first.. as opposed to just walking in or getting a job as a cleaner. Entirely rational to think that's why people transition!
Condor@CondorInCrisis

@speakoutsister 1. It doesn't BUT Workplace Regs 92 are in force 2. Employers EG civil service want to outlaw 'deliberate' M/G'ing, what tha means will be thrashed out via ETs & litigations 3. Yes, if males are undergoing GR for the purpose of using Female designated facilities, they can't ⬇️

@Jakeaxeb @IsabeauVidal Trans women are hated for being women AND for being trans. Your claim is similar in logic to claiming cis lesbians can’t face misogyny, only homophobia - because you have idiosyncratically decided that there are particular aspects of identity you think subsume all others.

@IsabeauVidal Of course J.K. is correct, though. This Ashlee person is apparently trans…contempt for, or hatred of, trans people is called transphobia, not misogyny. A trans woman and a woman are two different nouns…

I am completely and utterly done pretending like JKR is not a transphobic bully. Did she start out with a genuine concern for women’s rights when it comes to e.g. prisons and sports? Sure, I can believe that. I have concerns there too. At this point though, she has been completely captured by abject hatred of trans women, a tiny minority of people who do not threaten women’s rights in any meaningful way. Yes, trans women suffer from misogyny. If anything, trans women are seen as less than women. A fair target for ridicule and discrimination, by men and (some) women alike. And some of those women absolutely delight in beating up on trans women. After all, in their eyes, trans women are just men. A type of men they can denigrate without consequences, and rather even with the explicit support and encouragement of the *actually patriarchal* men in their lives.

@IsabeauVidal I would like to ask them in what other situations these women think the patriarchy likes to help *women* beat on “male predators”? Because they’re living in a dream world where the trans women they attack are somehow on the side that’s also attacking?

@IHaveNoRegrets0 @sally_hines It’s accepted as cheese within the appropriate social context. It is a legitimate fulfillment of the role of cheese. You’ll correctly be seen as a aggro moron if you start having fits about vegan cheese not being real when you encounter people eating it.

Black woman, lesbian woman, working class woman etc etc etc… This is, though, a perfect example of why communities of women who were not white, middle class and heterosexual had to fight so hard for recognition in a 2nd wave feminist movement. Rowling was not paying attention.
Bad Writing Takes 🖊️🏳️‍🌈@BadWritingTakes

Being part of the TERF hate cult really turns your brain to soup because how is this an argument JK Rowling is prepared to type out and post without feeling acute embarrassment? "White women aren't women because if they were the word white wouldn't be there!"

@sally_hines "Black," "lesbian," and "working class" are ordinary descriptive (intersective) modifiers of an established category; "trans" is not.

Eloise… dynamite with a laser beam!
@sally_hines She’s never really shown any interest in feminism. Only in being transphobic. Yes she donated a fraction of a percent of her excess wealth to causes, but that’s not anything which takes effort or understanding.

@sally_hines Rowling did pay attention, the problem is that she’s *never* been a feminist. The ONLY things she’s ever done in the name of helping women is persecute trans people, our allies, and PoC cis women.

@MattNuckolls78 @voydmayj @heinz_kiosk @BadWritingTakes Why are you all so agitated about it then? I don’t get myself worked up over unreal things that don’t affect my life. I don’t start yelling at Catholics that they can’t really turn crackers and wine into a god’s flesh and blood. I don’t scream that they’re corrupting children.

@superdavo0001 @BadWritingTakes Any trans person can tell you that transphobia rots your brain like this. It’s truly something to behold - transphobes like JKR lose their grip on EVERYTHING and keep picking up new bigotries until they’re outright supporting Nazis because “at least they know what a woman is”.

@BadWritingTakes How tf do you get to become a successful author when you can't even understand the basics of how words work lmfao This isn't even an argument about trans people & their status in society, it's a linguistic claim that's quite simply false.

@BillyteaMick @____rehtaeh That’s not biblical at all. This is the problem exactly. You see the suffering of others as a personal opportunity to earn Jesus points, not something to be alleviated as such. You make it about yourselves, your own glorification. Jesus said you already have your reward.

It's so weird being raised by Christians, and spending your entire childhood being told to care about others…then one day they're just like you're not actually supposed to care about others, you stupid Marxist libtard socialist.

@____rehtaeh This is a similar and related experience to being raised conservative and then as a young adult realizing like 99% of conservatives never actually believed in that free market and limited government stuff. It was all just pretext for (mostly) racism.
