The joke is because politicians wish to say our electricity is cheap. But it is very expensive all inclusive. Hell Enmax gives Calgary 66million a year in dividends because of all the money they make, so just another form of private company hidden tax of sorts, or backhand funding lining pockets of a few for an industry that really should not be so.

We bought a quarter of land in November that has 2 separate yard sites where we’ll be moving to in the spring. We had the power disconnected when we took possession so there is zero power being used and it’s literally shut off.
How in the fuck is it possible that it costs almost $300 a month for my power bill when we used ZERO POWER?

Let me tell you some hard, incovenient truths.
Then you decide what you are going to do about it.
This year the US will take in $5.5T in tax receipts.
We will spend $7.3T.
The FIVE "untouchables" in US expenditure:
Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Defense, Interest:
$5.2T.
The US will roll over $9T in Treasuries this year. If the 10 year remains above 4% we will add $300B to our interest expenses. In one year.
The Defense Dept just asked for $200B to continue this war. It's a Supplemental Request. Every expenditure in this war will be "printed."
Let's look at the FED.
The PPI just printed a 3.4% inflation number.
The FED can't lower. If they raise interest rates that math above will rapidly get worse.
If the stock market crashes, then receipts will rapidly fall. The math will get worse. Quickly.
All of the above is not "doomerism." These are facts. Inconvenient truths.
It is up to you to face hard truths and act accordingly to protect yourself and those you love with your investments.
That's what being an adult is all about.

Another weird incident today.
Another volunteer is using my pop-up along highway 1A. He texted me just as I was heading downtown to do my call-in show on the @WesternStandar1
"Something odd happening here. There are two mini vans sitting with eyes on me. One in xxxxx' old spot, and one in the field approach 100 yds east. Both have been here for more than half an hour. "
I got that message at 12:10 pm, and dispatched another volunteer to join them.
I told them I would swing by on my way back around 3:00 pm.
I mentioned the two vans in my show.
