I am committing INR 1 Cr to find Bangalore Choke-Points via Google Maps & AL. 11 km → 2.15 hours in Bangalore Traffic on Saturday late night! I was stuck at one choke-point at ORR, where I spent 100 mins struggling to understand why there is no traffic-light or cop here! But I don’t want one more “Bengaluru Traffic Memes or Rant”. I WANT TO FIX IT. Very recently, in April 2025, Google Maps started sharing "Road Management Insight". It's a city-level data in Big Query format. Using Google Data and Satellite Imagery, we can list down all the choke-points & their exact timings in a month. For the traffic department to work on those areas specifically. I am willing to spend INR 1 Crore on this project by funding: 1-2 senior ML/AI engineers. And providing budget for using Google Maps API calls, Satellite Imagery & GPUs I will start this project, when BTP/BBMP: Open their raw feeds or API access AND names a team, committed to acting on the insights we generate. 🙌 How can you help right now? 1. TAG anyone you know in the Bangalore Traffic Office, BBMP or the Traffic Commissioner’s office, let this hit the right inbox. 2. ML/AI folks: comment "IN", if you can work along part-time to end this menace 3. Every commuter who’s sick of bleeding time: comment or share. More noise -> faster response. Bengalore is India’s tech future; and people making it happen deserve MUCH better. #BangaloreTraffic #AIforGood #OpenData #CSR #peakbengaluru

@saffrontrail Terrible tasting rotis with weird hard texture if you are used to soft phulkas from whole wheat. Better to take whey isolate - some joy of taste should be left in life

The star ingredient is this atta (brand: Mill’d) which has pea and soy flour added - giving 46g/100g atta! 3-4x of regular atta Use 50g atta for 2 rotis and you get 23g from your usual rotis Taste is quite good too. This one is amazing for vegetarians 😇

Stress has become such an easy word to throw around these days, to justify actions, non-actions or laziness People who barely have any work, chore or responsibility, use it so casually that it's almost laughable.

Just had a HARD realisation Chasing Money or Glory or Power: is all a losing game to begin with. As it's always comparative in nature, and there will always be someone ahead of you. Chasing Freedom, Peace or Happiness: is all a winning game, as it CANNOT be compared with others. You can never know if one has more than you or not. Or maybe meaning of life is ONLY to keep becoming better version of self. As then you are ONLY comparing yourself, a day or even a moment from before, and it COULD be a winning game and is TOTALLY under ones control.

Back in 2019, I stayed in a Kopan Monastery (in Nepal) for 12 days, with 300 monks and without any external connection. All we did was meditate from 6.30 am till 6 pm (with 10-15 mins break in between). They taught me 8 different types of meditation there, one of them I can still meditate for hours. Before leaving the monastery, I got my phone back. I went up to the place and clicked this picture, where I used to meditate mostly.

If Delhi is the pollution capital of India, Bangalore is the traffic capital of India. If you spend 2 hours in traffic daily, over 60 years that's 5 full years stuck in a car. Not moving your body. Breathing polluted air. Losing time, losing health. Prashant Pitti @ppitti (co-founder of EaseMyTrip) donated ₹1 crore of his personal money to fight against Bangalore traffic. He’s now working with Google Maps, traffic simulators, AI researchers, and ride-hailing data from Uber, Ola, and Rapido to build long-term, data-driven solutions. While most of us honk and blame, he’s doing something about it. India needs more such problem solvers.

🚨 MAJOR UPDATE on Bangalore Traffic Project! I am confident of improving Bangalore traffic by 25-30% within a year's time --- 1. Collaboration at Scale In just 10 days, after meeting the commissioners of BTP, BBMP, CP, Google team, IISC professors, Scientist, Road Engineers, Traffic Related Entrepreneurs. All three newly appointed commissioners were very kind to invite me to showcase existing capabilities AND collaborate to work together. For the first time we are bringing all key public and private players - to the same table. --- 2. Quick Optimization Projects A) Bangalore Traffic Simulators Both BTP and IISC have simulation models, which can create millions of re-routing permutations to reduce travel-time (not shortest distance). I have requested the data from Google, Uber, Ola, Rapido, that will make models predict better re-routing. Some of them have confirmed to help. Waiting for others. If the model starts working, we will be able to predict where/when gridlock is going to happen, so we can fix it before it occurs. B) Fixing Feedback Loop Govt already has apps, where people can report potholes. I will take ownership of that app, to increase its scope (report illegal parking, broken signal, wrong side driving, water logging, broken vehicle, etc). I will also increase accountability and recognition by showcasing all the complaints lodged AND action-taken (along with time-stamp) publicly. C) Hyperlocal Rain Predictor Govt closes the road to do infra/maintenance work, but then it starts raining on that patch of road and work halts. This leads to crazy downtime and traffic congestion. Hyperlocal Rain Predictor project will also allow us to fix drainage issues, even before it happens. D) Green Wave Signals: Putting traffic lights in sync, so they move vehicles in waves, instead of stopping at every junction. A pilot is already happening, we will analyse the results to see if it makes sense to be done at City level. --- 3. The Vision for India Many people mentioned in my last post "Bangalore Traffic is an Infra problem", congrats on stating the obvious. If we continue to wait for the infra to become better, then we are merely playing a catch-up game with the West. There is so much scope to optimize current infra, and I would rather focus on that. This is no longer about rants or blaming the system. It’s about practical optimism - believing that with data, intent, and collaboration, we can improve what feels unfixable. --- 4. Ask from Readers: A) Continue your support and share/comment. The more you amplify, the more right folks will be able to join us in solving this gridlock. I am in it for the long haul. Are you? B) Join our WhatsApp Community, where I will regularly post the next-steps. Plus we need more info from each one of you. On which junction/road, you face massive traffic issue. So we can present them to the right authorities. Link to join below in the comment section 👇 #BangaloreTraffic #ForPublicGoodAI #Bangalore

@ppitti Thank you and perhaps one more. Design of intersections should favor prioritizing flow of high density traffic and that means side lanes instead of directly crossing over should be encouraged to merge and take u-turns down the road such that intersections don't get clogged.

@ppitti Can you also look into public transport like bus making it more viable option for upper middle, and youth. Start with solving the timetable , and more buses during peak hours and enforcing the bus lane.
