@lavsmohan I saw a very good reel on why not recycle bottles to make bottles and keep them in a closed loop? Why make them into clothes which are way tougher to recycle than bottles ultimately leading them into landfills
English

@ku1deep obviously that 3000 includes margin, tailoring, branding etc.
English

@saffrontrail 😢 cmon now now that just bait. Recycled Polyester is actually more expensive about 500 for a tshirt worth. There is tailoring and margin over that.

Phew.....I am breathing again
English

@ku1deep I don’t feel “breathable” coming from plastic bottled :) although I do get the knit/weave/drape argument
English

That’s over simplifying and leading everyone in the wrong direction. Breathability comes from the knit/weave and the drape (kurtas breath better than corsets); the material has impact on thermal properties, microbial affinity, and mechanical considerations. I won’t argue for polyester but if we are going to have polyesters might as well have it recycled.
English

@Bengalururain @Vikrchan Well we’ve been hearing of thunderstorms everyday- it’s just getting more and more humid and intolerably hot. Clearly no one is getting the predictions right
English

@akkiman Why not? :) women are making everything out of paithanis .. why should the men get to wear our cultural weave.
English

@ku1deep Which brand is this
Sorry I can’t see that on the packaging

There is always something willing to improve bread by slicing it. Just received these samples. Adding eggs or TVP to dal and rice already seems like a reasonable solution but this seems to make it more convenient. This does address some of the nitpicks people have with dal rice meals. Soy protein isolate instead of defatted Soy. Lower GI on the rice (I have no idea how to test this claim) , better carbs to protein ratio (2X better probably) , better bioavailability etc etc. this should also slightly lower in calories but I am just going to use that as an excuse to add even more Parmigiano or Ghee 😅
As to the question of why? I have been trying to ensure that my typical meals have more protein. I don’t mind whey , ultra filtered milk , protein bars etc. I just want most of my protein to come from my regular meals and I grew up desi North Indian farmer vegetarian. It has been really difficult to switch to eating animal proteins other than Dairy. I find myself unable to switch. So back to Dal rice roti paneer we go.

kuldeep@ku1deep
I wanted to see if you could get 75gm+ protein a day in less than ₹100; Some tinkering and I can get to 70ish gm today. at the heart of this is a 30gm protein, 500 Calories, ₹45 meal. Now who wants to guess what this meal could be?
